Nope, his harness it's from Ruffwear. Whenever he's in the car he's always got the harness and he rides in his Lookout seat. I actually use that harness because it has the most surface area and padding in the front so if he goes flying it spreads the impact across as much of him as possible.

BEM-S4, great photo and excellent driving companion! It was a great day today to go to the beach. I need to get one of those harnesses for my silky terrier...

I did three things to my M235 this weekend:

1. Did my first oil change on it (all previous changes done at the dealer).
2. Replaced the air filter on the engine.
3. I had one of my wheel roundel center caps stolen a couple of weeks back; replaced all four with a new set.

I figure I added 5MPH to the top end with the new roundels on the wheels!

The "Snoozer!" We have one of these too. It works great for long trips.

Our dog loves to ride though we don't have a convertible.

He loves the car and the Snoozer is the best, he slept from Chicago to Philly in that thing once. Convertible around town he's cool, over 30mph though it gets really windy back there. To be fair I don't know many people who enjoy the back seat of a convertible at speed.

Today and Last Sunday

In my new M240i today, I installed two parts I had purchased previously:

1. Installed the M Performance Exhaust. It took about 40 minutes. I ended up using my reciprocating saw to cut the exhaust pipe when the tail pipe cutter I borrowed from O'Reilly Auto Parts didn't work very well. The tail pipe cutter did leave a nice mark to use with the recip saw. Happy with the sound though it will probably encourage more aggressive use of the the throttle.

2. Also installed the side sill blades. This took about 30 minutes. Used stainless screws rather than the plastics rivets which are a little long. Like the look though it is subtle. I left these black in contrast to what I did with the MP rear diffuser where I had my paint guy paint some parts to match my body color (EB).

Last Sunday, I installed the new Bavsound amplifier along with their speaker upgrade. About 2 hours to do all of this. I went with Bavsound for the convenience of being able to plug and play. Not broken in, but it sounds great. Much better than the HK in this car or the HKs in other BMWs I've owned (e.g., M235i, 135i, 335i).

Happy with all three of the above and plan to post separate brief reviews on each.

We've done six hour drives though not anything like Philly to Chicago straight through. Is that about 11 or 12 hours?

The ceramic coating working its magic so went on a grocery pickup run. Easier to load things on here with the roof down, except when the little one decides to throw them back out while driving

at least the front lip looks ok? Outside of this going through your insurance, is the hotel giving you any kickback? Least they can do is not charge you for the Hotel stay.

Not today, but Friday - had my trunk release handle and cable replaced at the dealership (goodbye $400) and then had them replace the ///M235i trunk badge that the PO removed.

Glad to have my trunk back

The lip seemed warped pretty bad from straight on. So far it's going through their insurance and they've been generous with comps.

Thanks man. They're actually Brembo GT Brakes 6/4 piston 380/345mm w/ type 3 rotors. Much stronger and has floating discs, etc. I got them for a fraction of the cost, new, or else I'd probably not have swung for a setup like this so soon. Gotta take advantage when the good deals come around

Dinan Sweetness

OK so, I bought my M240i X-drive brand new and drove directly to Carbahn Auto Works and Steve Dinan in San Jose, California for a bit of an upgrade.

First the car was outfitted with Dinan’s Stage One tune, high flow mid-pipes and free flow black tip exhaust. Man, what a sound!

I then had Dinan install high performance front and rear anti-sway bars, spring set and bump stops to help tighten up the already amazing handling capabilities of this awesome car. I finished things off with a new set Antler-Rotary Forged Matte Black wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport 4s tires. The resulting car is nothing short of amazing.

I want to also say that I’ve put over 48K commute / pleasure miles on the car since the upgrades and I’ve had no issues at all. I now keep track of M2's, Corvettes and Audi's in my rear view mirror.

Happy in El Dorado Hills!!
Jim

Just a quick wash with my new Chemical Guys stubby pressure washer gun. So much better than the long lance that came on the unit.
