Today put the wheels they look like the VMR 710 but in a budget price. They look real nice and are 3 lbs lighter than the OEM. The vibration when away and is a smooth ride.
So savings 10 lbs from the AA Exhaust, 3 lbs ea per wheels and about 3 lbs ea per tire that equals= 34 lbs that I shed. And around 0 RWHP gain … Will get pics later, trying to figure out how to post them … |

Added the lowes hillman plugs in the front bumper to cover up the license plate bracket holes. This makes me grin..and reaffirms the decision of getting it in black. |

Plastidip'd the rear badge. Saw a video and it looked simple enough. I'm surprisingly happy with the result. May do the side badges now too.

Less what I did to the car than what it did to me...which is give me a heart attack with a warning that says "Engine coolant level low: top off as soon as possible. See owner's manual. Possible engine damage."
So I let it cool down and checked it. It's below the minimum by a couple inches in both the main reservoir and secondary reservoir. Unfortunately the owner's manual doesn't specify what kind of coolant it takes: "Not all commercially available additives are suitable for this vehicle. Information about suitable additives is available at the dealer's service center and other qualified service centers or repair shops." Clicking around on the forums seems to reveal that BMW has a proprietary coolant formula that's not readily available in an off the shelf product at the auto store, and there seems to be some debate about exactly what should be added (makeup distilled water, 50/50 BMW-water mix, whether BMW OE coolant is functionally different from G48 coolant, etc). And whether having to add makeup coolant is appropriate and normal or a sign of some larger impending failure like a bad turbo, leaking intercooler tanks, cracked head, or time to add an oil catch can. So, is it just G48? Should I add back just water? Is it pretty normal for a B48 to need make coolant or something my dealer should investigate? it safe to drive without causing "engine damage"? Update: added about a quart of 50/50 BMW OE Coolant and DI water. Last edited by 230iZTR; 05-08-2019 at 01:22 AM.. |

Installed pre-oiled AFE Power Magnum FLOW Air Filter. I like that it's blue!

That looks nice! I would imagine you could apply a ceramic coating to that, similar to how you can coat clear bra material like Xpel? Or is that not an option with vinyl wraps?

Well before I got the new wheels I had replaced the RF with some price friendly tires since I was not thinking on keeping the car.
After I installed the AA exhaust and the new wheels I started liking the car ... however I had the wheels rebalanced 3 times including the initial one and was still getting the steering vibration. This happened when the temperature was cooler but decreased on hotter temperatures. I figured out that has to be the cheapo tires so took out the Credit Card and bought 4 Continental Contact A/S. The ride feels different and no steering vibration so far ... |

I went for the first “enthusiastic” drive after having Dinan Shockware programmed yesterday. I now wish I would have done it when I got the car.
