M sport brake caliper rebuild update
Interesting. I'm rebuilding my M Sport calipers and the piston boots were totally destroyed. Half of them were still attached to pistons and other half had bonded to the calipers. After cleaning things up I noticed that there are metal rings that fit in a groove in the caliper housing. I was able to remove the metal rings and was able to get what was left of the rubber boots off the rings with a wire wheel brush. Maybe this is all overkill. Per suggestion in this group I purchased high tempo boots from Ohio Performance solutions.

Also, smchuck sorry for saying "the seals look fine to me" in the ad -- this was just from the outside, without taking the pistons out. Glad the rebuild is going ok. |

No apologies needed. It still feels like I got brand new Brembo's since Ive never had brakes this nice and they came in the fancy Brembo boxes. Its fun learning how this stuff works.
