Need Xdrive square setup tire recommendations
I live in FL so snow is not an issue, a summer tire is fine. I have 18x8 wheels and would like to stick to 235/40/18 tires. My budget is around $700 total and would like a grippy tire but that will last me quite a while. This is not an autox or track car so I feel like the MP4S would be overkill.
Anyone have experience with Dunlop Direzza, Kumho Ecsta, or Hankook Ventus? Those are the ones I've narrowed it down to. The site I normally use is tirerack.

Direzza - $843.32 Ecsta - $607.92 Ventus - $773.08 Looks like the Ecsta is your tire. Note: all three tires have a Treadlife Warranty of "None". Depending upon your driving conditions (e.g., heat) and style (e.g, spirited), I suggest thinking in terms of 8-12,000 miles from tires in this class.

I'd save the money and get the MP4S. I've run cheaper brands in the past like Kumho and Hankook but they've never matched the quality, comfort, wear, or feel of a MPSS or the MP4S.
Whatever you do, get a summer tire. Do not waste your time with an all season. You live in a warm climate. Don't neuter your car. Either way, don't expect more than 30k from a legit performance tire. Everyone should try a quality performance tire at least once in their life. I'd also go 245/35r18. Way more aggressive looking and more contact patch. I'm running them at all four corners, no camber adjustments, etc. No rubbing on 18x8 et43. |

I've really liked the Bridgestone s007, and I think a set is under $700. Same basic tread pattern as the MP4S for wet traction, but a better handling carcass, doesn't eat the outside edges as badly despite the lower wear rating. Or Conti ExtremeContacts are cheaper and equivalent to the MP4S. Tires are like shoes, economizing is seldom worth it over time.

Conti ExtremeContact Sport. Very close performance to the P4Ss, but a few hundred bucks less for a set.
