Oh is that so? That'll make the 1 series rare, good or bad I don't know lol.

I don't know about rare. The 1-series was in production for many years. Sales numbers weren't huge, but they weren't limited-run either. I love my 1-series, but in a best case scenario, I'd expect them to be viewed as something like the vanilla 2002, 40 years from now.

BMW is a publicly traded company, thus they live and die by the axiom of "maximizing shareholder value." They believe that the best way to grow is to expand their line-up.

In addition to maximizing shareholders returns, expanding the product line is also their only means of remaining independent and being able to compete with the mighty empires of VW, Toyota, Fiat, GM and Ford

For those of you fearing the rear,
look at this It has the aggressiveness of the F30 er, but the diffuser comes up higher than the F30 er. A cross between the F30 rear and the M135i rear

looks like a new e46 to me in terms of size! That's awesome! It looks very nice, definitely a little longer than the e82. It also looks less bubbly, which is also great. To me it looks like an e46-sized 335is

Do we have any solid info on when this will be revealed?
They're supposed to start building the damn thing in November--I wonder if that's not going to happen on schedule... I am anxious to see it--my 135 lease is up in December, which I would extend a couple of months and potentially get one of these, but I gotta see it first...

I would really like to turn the 135 in and pick the M235 up--but the timing that goes into that requires some planning... The i3, 4 coupe, and i8 have been the focus of late--we haven't seen the M235 out much since the red "spy photos" from a while back. I want to see it from all angles and in different colors...

Just would like to know what we can get option wise, colors, pricing etc. I'm also curious to know if we'll be able to order M Performance parts as there are a few things I would like to get off the bat. |

Problem is: What are the alternatives? In my opinion the 4 is too expensive, and almost too big, and the f30 has lousy steering feel.

My main fear is that my December 10 date arrives and there hasn't been enough coverage of the production M235 for me to feel comfortable ordering one, or I have missed my chance to "get a spot in line" for one of the first ones to roll off the line. I have ruled out the CLA AMG--I am not sold on the looks. There's no guarantee that the S3 from Audi will even make it here, so.....I might just get a GTI or something and wait for the M2... Decisions, decisions...

The CLA, in my opinion, is just downright ugly. Would have considered an s3 sedan, but no manual is a deal breaker. Also would have looked at a Golf R, but it doesn't appear to be coming to the U.S. Somewhere in this blog I saw a post about the 2 having a scheduled official reveal in October, with production starting in November. Can only hope that this is the case.
