BMW M235i Coupe Modeled in 3D
BIMMERPOST NEWS BMW M235i Coupe Modeled in 3D An interactive 3D modeler of the M235i Coupe is now available at Humster3D. This digitally modeled version is based off the revealing spy photos of the M235i we posted last month. Generally speaking, it does a decent job at previewing the M235i, although it does have to make some predictions as to the rear view and tail lights, which remain partially covered in the spy photos. Its surfacing is also too flat in some areas, as the actual M235i's hood and front fascia have more shape and curves. If you want to play with the interactive modeler, visit: http://humster3d.com/360-view/?id=54832 Here's a 360 degree video: Spy photos on which 3D modeler is based: The M235i and 228i coupe will be the first 2 Series models available in the US. Both models will begin production in November 2013, as a 2014 model year. Expect deliveries beginning late 2013 - early 2014. The M235i will feature the same powerplant and mechanicals as the acclaimed M135i hatchback. Follow our 2 Series news, coverage, and updates @ http://www.bimmerpost.com/2-series/ |

As a 135i driver, this looks like a worthy successor to me. My 135i is fast, but power corrupts. Perhaps an M2 or M4 is in my future.

3D modeling is next level
Some mad skills in using spy shots to build a 3D model. Wow.
Totally see what you mean about rear-end assumptions but this gives a pretty idea about stance and overall proportions.

This car has no character at all unlike the 1er (ugliness)
Seems like they've been trying very hard not to get criticized on the front end. Can't really say much at this point. Not excited. |

I liked the 1 series better...this looks like a Dodge Dart from the front.

Well i was excited till this render came out.....The rear end looks like ASS, no pun intended and the lights and the diffuser look off as well. No spoiler? A nice diffuser and spoiler will help but if the car comes out looking like this.....it will upset lots of folks.

interesting take. I have always felt separating the grill of a car from the lights gave a stronger "face" to a car. ... I did not look to it as modernity... food for thought to me

It's a render guys. No one knows what the rear actually looks like yet. I also feel like the render is off a bit in some critical areas, like the taper of the front end. This is a fun exercise, nothing more. Anyone making judgements about whether they'll consider the car based on this... well, on second thought, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

So what's the point of having a 1 series and 2 series? Both look pretty similar as a small coupe.. But the 2 series looks a lot better.

The current 1-series is going away. BMW is planning to release a completely new, possibly FWD 1-series in the future. It won't look anything like the current 1-series, and would share a platform with Mini.
