Niantic CT here. Have owned the 2015 M235i since Apr 10, after picking it up at the Performance Delivery Center in SC.
Have yet to see another 2 Series on the road in this part of CT. I honestly don't get much reaction on mine from the general public, other than the occasional "nice car" comment. I have taken it to a couple enthusiast car meets at the Milford Cars and Coffee event, and the Monday night cruise night at Ocean Beach in New London, and some people have recognized it at the meets, though there is still confusion about what it is. One guy asked me if it cost about $30K. I wish. Another guy said to his buddies, "that's an M car." It's not nearly as attention-getting as the yellow 2005 Mustang GT I sold to make room for it in the garage. Even after 10 years of owning the Mustang, there was something about the color and the car style that generated stares and conversation from the general public and enthusiasts alike. Everyone knew what it was. Everyone knew it was powerful and fast. And most everyone thought it was attractive. Right to the end I literally couldn't go anywhere without stares and compliments. The BMW is the garage queen. I take it out in nice weather on weeknights and weekends, but usually commute 5 miles to work in my 2003 R50 Mini Cooper or my 2011 Kawasaki Z1000. I took the Mustang to HPDE track events annually, and am looking forward to tracking the M235i as well - it could be at Lime Rock on Aug 27 with the SCDA group. Here are pictures of the car at Waterford Beach park this Spring a couple weeks after delivery.

Nice ride, I see we have similar tastes in colors.
I read your thread earlier in the year when you were debating what to get. I'm also a fellow Mustang owner, 2002 GT, although I still have mine. Original owner with 149k on the clock, still running the original clutch! Nice stick in the 235, how do you like it? I was so ready for an auto after clutching the Mustang for the past 13 years. Sport mode with the paddle shifters closely replicates the manual experience for me and is a lot easier on this old left leg. Here's a few shots.I recently added the black sport grills. You can see my Stang in the background in the first one. Good luck with car, post some info about the next meet in Milford. I'm right around the corner in Bridgeport.

Hi Guys ,
Im in Branford CT and my 2016 gets into port sept 15 . It gets the msport exhaust and black kidney grills and heads up to North Haven. Its Alpine /Coral with tech, cold weather and the all season tires , runflats unfortunately. Did any of you get any great deals up here in CT ? I think with the drive event i ended up around $5500 below sticker roughly. Is that a good deal ? |

I think the orbit grey wheels are new for 2016. I've seen pics of my wheels and the orbit grey, with orbit grey being just a touch darker. My wheels in the sig pic look a little darker than they really are due to the lighting. Good luck with your new ride when it shows up.

Resurrecting an old thread. Hope y'all are still around & having meetings. 7 weeks ago, picked up my EBII M235i. I've only been to one event so far. Haven't seen many of the M235i still...

Niiice EB. Not a big fan of black wheels but those look good. Still rarely see a 2 series on the road and I've had mine for 20 months now. Definitely a niche car. Have yet to meet up with anybody .......Good luck with your ride!

Nice, Bridgeport is a highly awarded dealership from BMW NA. They do all my service. I remember seeing that black one in their inventory on the website, which I peruse at least once a week. Now I know where it went. Good luck with that black beast!
