2015 BMW220i convertible - roof squeak or creak noise

Love my recently purchased car but it has an annoying squeak over bumps in rear passenger side. It appears to be coming from the roof. When the roof is down it doesn’t happen. I have sprayed the joints with the roof half recessed but still no luck. Any one of else experience similar? Suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

Might this be the window rubber moving against the glass? Many owners treat their window rubber with Gummi Pflege to keep it supple and avoid squeaks. Perhaps trying lowering the windows to see if the sound goes away. There are various forum threads on this that should come up in a search.

Tried and failed

Tried this solution and failed to resolve the squeaking. Seems to be a common BMW issue, more ideas very welcome please!

Sorry to hear it wasn't a simple fix. It's a long shot, but another thing worth excluding is soft-top storage and treatment. Buried in the manual is a recommendation to not store the car with the roof retracted (at least not regularly, or for long periods) as the fabric needs to be kept stretched. Another straw to clutch at is the recommendation to clean and re-proof the roof material from time to time. Again, keeping it taught when drying.

I clean* and re-proof** at the end of summer and winter, and if the roof gets badly gunked-up with tree sap or bird strike. The BMW re-proofing concentrate** lasts for a fair number of treatments. However, I have the luxury of a garage so mostly it is kept there when parked (this also reduces the insurance premium).

Not saying it's either of these issues, but if you decide to take it to a garage you can at least exclude them from the equation.
