Trying to clear up a few things...

VIN states options:
S645 BMW US Radio
S663 Radio BMW Professional
S693 Preparation BMW Satellite Radio
S697 Area-Code 1 For DVD

I don't have a center channel speaker which makes me think I have the base system and not Hi-Fi. I do have under seat subs which I didn't think came with the base system. Anyone know for sure?

Is this possibly a regional thing?

676A is the hifi code or there's 674A for the Harmon Kardon. I'm not aware of anything below hifi for North America.

Mine is the 676A and has a center channel speaker and two under seat speakers but no tweeters. Did you buy the car used and maybe they took out the center channel? It's a common enough mod, some people find the center channel too overpowering..

There’s no center channel grill in the dash. I too thought Hifi was the base for NA and I didn’t think subs would have come with anything below Hifi.

That must be pretty rare then, I have only heard of euro market cars with the base audio. To be fair, the factory audio on these cars is quite poor even in the highest trims. You may have a different upgrade path if you want to start modding though... or start from scratch.

The system isn’t horrible. Maybe it’s because of the lack of center channel. It does leave something to be desired. I already have a set of IC BMW 100L and IC BMW 100 waiting for me to install. Hopefully I’ll have the time in the next couple of weeks.
