Testing the waters on selling...

2016 M235i
6MT
19,600 miles
Alpine White over Black Dakota
2 owner, clean carfax

I planned on keeping the car forever and still probably will... but I might want to allocate some funds in a different direction and the car could be on the chopping block. I'm not desperate to sell it but am curious to know what a low mileage, hard to find manual like this would go for...

I bought it in 9/2020 and it had less than 6K miles then, so I've put about 13K miles on it since. 4K of those were a road trip from WA to CA and back, so it's really been a fair weather, weekend driver all its life and it shows.

It's hard to find comps on the market, so it's tough to know what a fair asking price would be. Thoughts?

Keep it and drive it more. My 2016 has 78k miles and I feel like I'm not driving it enough. What big road trip have you been wanting to take?

I've been wondering the same thing. I have a 2015 M235i MT slick top with 65k on it, alpine white on coral. Been thinking of selling to get a F31 330i.

Things are keeping their value and the F22 is no exception. I see them mid $20k all the time. Yours should fetch North of that.

All good feedback. I think I prefer the car over the cash for the time being. I looked around a couple of years ago and they were going for over $30K, but I understand everything is older and the used car market has cooled off a bit.

There's a lot more 6 speed M2s for sale than non-M 2 series. Definitely not common. (as per Canadian Autotrader)

The take rate on 6MT M2s was around 50%. With M235s/M240s, it was well south of 10%. If you've got a slick top 6MT M235/M240 and the M-Performance LSD, then you've got a super rare and desirable M235/M240 to a certain crowd that's willing to pay for it. Unfortunately, that crowd is pretty small.

Mine is an odd one that I ordered back in October 2015:

6MT
Slick top
Mineral White
Coral Red
No nav
HK Stereo
Cold weather package
Staggered 18s

Installed later:

MP LSD
Carbon fiber MP shift knob and interior bits

I am in the market for buying, I have been looking for a manual BMW for a while. I would love to start the conversation. I am in West LA.
