DINAN PERFORMANCE SPRING SET - 2015-2021 BMW M235I/M240I (XDRIVE)

anyone run these? Are they stiff when you hit potholes? i ran H&R springs on my last car (f30 335i) and the ride quality was horrible. hitting bumps and potholes was hell. can someone give me an honest review on these? Also will these affect EDC in any way or will the adaptive suspension still work?

Also curious. I'd like to know how different springs affect the stock shocks as well. Normally they expedite the wear on them to the point that it's not worth getting just springs. Wondering if that's the case with the F22

About to run these as my car is daily and I cant afford it a coilover. Also it gives the mildest drop which is probably max that my wife will hopefully not notice.

The adaptive suspension is the shock/damper. It will still work.

According to Dinan on some post here, these spring have been extensively tested with tens of thousands of miles together with our stock shocks and not seen significant expedited wear.

The same cannot be said with the H&R. Quite a few run it but have definitely heard expedited wear. Although wasn't sure if its just the lower variant or both spring from H&R.

I hate the lowest H&R springs on my ST. It was slammed lol like tucking front tire. It was great but the ride was awful and wore out my stock shocks in like 20K-40K miles. Granted that car ran rough as shit from the factory so can't fully blame the springs there.

I'd love to lower this car just enough to close the wheel gap. Maybe .5" to 1". But I wouldn't want to sacrifice ride quality and OEM shocks in the process. I'm sure that combo doesn't exist though lol

Any thing that will lower your car will have harsher ride quality so you are right, none that wouldn't sacrifice ride quality.

However if its a slight drop in ride quality, I can live with it, hell when I was younger I truly enjoy the harsher ride and having to slow down to a crawl on a shitty road just to feel every bump, simply divine. With that said, Dinan spring lower the front by .5" and rear by 1" and it was extensively tested with the OEM shocks so it will probably be your best bet for the mildest drop with the least sacrifice in ride quality and OEM shock combo.

I went with these because Im a victim of advertising and I believe the Eibach's will not have as a rough of a ride, plus they only drop the car 15mm

I can’t really tell if the ride is more harsh than factory. I’ve had them on my car for a little over a year and I love them. I think they lower the car a perfect amount. I do have the m240 with the adaptive suspension. I ride around in comfort 99% of the time. I can’t say how well they ‘perform” as I’ve never had it to the track and I drive it like a granny most of the time.

I chose the Dinan over the Eibach because of reviews on here about the Eibachs being too low. Besides, I trust Dinan because they are very BMW specific.

I had the dealership install mine. I don’t even recall what I paid but I’m sure I overpaid. There aren’t too many local shops here that will install an aftermarket suspension.

It’s settled a little more since these pictures. I can put 1 finger between the fender and rear tire and 1.5 fingers up front.

I’m running stock size staggered tires on 18x8 OZ wheels all the way around with no spacers.

Thanks! Do you think they’d rub with spacers when you hit some bumps? Ideally I’d want a flush fit

You could run spacers in the rear but I have no idea how big you could run before rubbing. My offsets are whatever Tire rack says the wheels are. I can’t remember what they were.

I love the flush look too, but when I got these wheels, it was sort of an emergency because my car was immobile. I bent 2 wheels on the same side of the car hitting a really HUGE pothole. But I still like the look so I’m keeping them. I’ve since painted the wheels a dark bronze because BMW brake dust is horrendous and I got tired of looking at dust after I just washed the wheels. At least the darker color hides the brake dust.

The Dinan springs are the best option for a mild drop. If this is the first time you are lowering your car, Dinan is a great starting point.
