Oil/engine temp on 2017 M240i

Hi,

I coded the engine temp bar with Bimmercode (the blue and red bar). But the needle doesn't move. Have anyone figured out how to get the oil or engine temp working?

Also, is it possible to get a centered speed reading with bigger numbers in the cluster?

Had the same experience when I coded the temp bar in my car.
Have not found anything else in Esys (the programming tool I use), or searching the web for another option to program.

There is this hidden menu that shows temp

It is not possible to get the temp gauge working, you will just get the gauge showing cold, no input values seem to be able to be passed to it on a pre-LCI car.

It is unlikely you can get the speed showing larger than the current OBD display size, as I don't think there is a formatting or display option that does a similar thing for any other function, so the font drivers and capability probably don't exist.

That's unfortunate. It's strange there is no way to do it as Toddbmw said, the information is available in the hidden meny. This is why I sometimes regret getting a pre LCI.

Anyone found a way to code or enable oil temp on a 2017 M240i? Saw a picture of a m235i with the oil/coolant temp saying "ok".

Does the procedure detailed in post #2 in that thread work for you?

I have a 2017 M240i, and the oil temperature displays when I follow the steps shown there.

Yeah, accessing the temp in the hidden meny works, but it's a little tedious.
I was hoping you can have it showing in the instrument cluster like on the M2 or M240i LCI. Perhaps we don't have the correct sensor for it though.
