please keep us updated.

i have the dinan's in a box not going on due to dinan's recommendation.

Some of the kits are fine while some are not. It is a ball bearing issue as pointed out earlier. I need a camber solution asap as im on second set of tires in 2 months and 5 track days already.

More factually: some people have complained and some have not.

Well, the process isn't all that sexy, but maybe I'm jaded. We are in the middle of first side processes on the OEM perches and the main plates. Still have to do second sides and the two different bearing holders.

A stack of first sides done. The tolerances on the press fit are a killer.

Blurry, unfocused action shot. You can tell I'm not a photographer.

Side one done in the lathe.

Making LOTS of chips...

Finished side one.

Waiting for second side.

Still too early to say. Maybe Vorshlag can chime in with updates.

It is now the middle of July. Vorshlag said it would be about 4 weeks from the beginning of June. What gives? I keep seeing their Facebook page update with products for domestic muscle (the favorite son), but no FXX BMW. What gives?

Yes, I know you have had great success with the kmac plates, but I really want to try out Vorshlag's solution. That and rwalker tried them and said they require some "modification" to fit on the car -- I think you acknowledged that as well. I lack the tools to do that type of work on my car, and I don't think I want to ask my mechanic/alignment people to do that either.

Point still stands: what gives Vorshag?

Well look on the brite side, at least there not selling junk like ground control, or releasing and then pulling them off the market like Dinan. Kmac plates require the two piece strut brace as opposed to the single (they welded it together now) one in the cars now. you can order them for like $30 a side, 2 bolts a side, or just cut the one in the car now, It's the easiest part of the install.

Those are valid points.

I know what is going on with GC plates, it's been that way for years, but what happened to Dinan?

Bearing is too small, or not rated for the load, you need a substantial bearing for that setup, my guess is manufacturers of these plates are having difficulties finding them at a reasonable price. Good quality bearings of that size could easily run 150-200 a bearing. Kmac uses a needle bearing on an isolator on all there stage 2, probably make plates for hundreds of cars, market mostly in Australia, where half the roads are not paved. They know abuse. You can also thank bmw, no double wishbone for us, cheap sobs.

I know -- I still have my GC plates (but got a full refund, so at least they're free right now) that clunk like hell. Hence why I am eagerly awaiting the Vorshlag plates . . .
