My front tires' outside shoulders are destroyed while the middle of the tires still has lots of tread left at 20K miles. These are my street stock PSS tires.

Will this mod and the extra camber help preserve tires? I'm aware of the benefit on track but I'm asking about preserving my street tires.

Ramos,

Yes, m4 LCAs add camber and help tire wear to be more even across tread width.

I have them my m135i and MPSS are wearing well.

So lets say I do the lca's. For alignmnet do you guys think it would be a good idea to get it done 3rd party. Or should I just bring it back to BMW and say please align this and hope they don't give me any trouble with adding a "mod".

Maybe it depends on the BMW dealership?

Don't take it to BMW.... bring it to some tunning shop where they know their alignment... you might not want the stock alignment and zero out the toe instead that will help with the tread wear from the extra camber

also the dealer would probably don't understand why your front camber if out of spec given that it's not adjustable so save yourself the hassle

May I ask about the specs of your wheels? Probably 17x7.5 but what's the offset? Thanks.

just wondering if you put this on a 228i w/ the M adaptive suspension, will it play funny w/ the suspension software on the 228i? I suspect it is slightly different than the software on the m235i...

I can't imagine how, but maybe you're driving at something specific. What makes you think LCAs will "play funny" with your M Adaptive Suspension?

so I installed the LCA'S over the weekend. I adjusted the toe myself to drive it to a aligment shop and get it back in spec. now my steering wheel is off center, does anybody know how to reset it to center ? do I need to remove the steering wheel and re-attach to center it. also with the steering wheel being off now, does this affect the dsc?

You center wheel, attach a steering wheel lock and then align toe. You never remove the wheel.

love the steering wheel. Is that Carbon matte? I want to get the carbon insert for my wheel to match the carbon/ alcantara trim. Only problem is most of the carbon aftermarket parts are glossy not matte like the trim.

Now that you've had them installed for a month how do you like them? Specifically what have you noticed? Would you do it again?

I just had these installed today by my favorite so cal alignment shop, West End Alignment. They were able to get -1.75 degrees of camber with just the arms installed. Great mod and absolutely worth the money. The comments in this thread were so helpful so thank you everybody!

I used the kit from turner motorsport. Totally happy with this!

After a day on the track I am happy to report that these lca's work brilliantly! The car has minimal understeer, the tires didn't get demolished and the car was extremely neutral. I highly recommend this upgrade!

That's great to hear. How about on the street? Have you noticed anything with the new arms?

I have noticed the absolute best thing on the street - nothing! It is totally stock feeling.

Best part is I won't have to worry about THIS happening again because it is a BMW part
