Rolling diameter (F)235 (R)255 xDrive
xDrive M240
I just purchased a staggered set of Michelin Pilot sport 4s. Originally I was going to go for the (Front) 225/35/19 (Rear) 255/30/19 combo but the retailer in Canada only had (Front) 235/35/19 available. I figured the extra sidewall probably wouldn’t hurt especially with 19s Im coming from the stock set up and I’m new to tire sizing. What I didn’t realize after reading is that the stock setup is -1.3% in circumference and this new set up would be -1.8% to the rear. Is this within the limits for xDrive or should I be worried? |

Anecdotally people refer to a max 1% difference, but as you figured out the stock 225/40/18 and 245/35/18 are above the %
Personally I wouldn't risk it (but I'm bothered by the large stock difference too). 225 F and 255R usually result in a <1% difference so I would stick to that. Any square set up that would fit the rim/car? |
