Android Auto question for 2020 m240i ?

Just a quick question , I had an iphone and was able to use Google maps on BMW head unit. Now with this new android (Google pixel 7) I can play my music through the apple music app via Bluetooth but when using Google maps it's only through my phone screen.

Is there any way to be able to play it on the cars head unit ? Is it only compatible with apple and not android ?

The stock head unit is only compatible with apple car play. After market boxes are available to add Android auto.
