Hi all

I have a 2018 220d. It’s LCI with the lci rear lights etc but it doesn’t have the lci climate control - the one with digital temp. Numbers and the green lights. I’m considering a retrofit. Does anyone know if the newer unit is plug and play or will it be a faff? Is coding needed?

I can’t confirm personally, but it looks like the digital AC controls are linked to an option for automatic air conditioning (S534A). If that is the case, just browsing through part numbers here, you may also need to VO code that option and install additional hardware (different control module, wiring set, AUC sensor, auxiliary heater, and housing just from what I can tell) to make it work. I can’t find a discussion of someone attempting this in an F22 specifically, but this might give you more information.

Seems like too much work it justify the change. Not really worth a “dashboard off” job 😂
