2 owners of Ohio?
Hello all. I have a loaded 235i (specs below) about to get loaded on a boat heading for a Performance Center delivery and wanted to see if there were any folks from the forum in the greater Cincinnati area.
I know of two M235's that I have seen around town (one in Blue Ash the other just driving around) but I don't think either owner visits the forums. For everyone else, give me a shout if you are in the neighborhood! Madmatt

The local chapter is located in Dayton (50 miles north of Cincinnati). I joined the day I ordered my M235i. Not sure how active that chapter is, i'm going to be looking into that soon.

Howdy! i'm fairly new to the area, and just took delivery of mine about a month ago. It's a freaking awesome car! I'm up in Dayton but am down in Cincy pretty often. I am hoping to go to one of the buckeye meetings here pretty soon, if I'm every around for a night when they have one.

Cincinnati 2 series
Hi:
I have a '16 m235 and live in Cincinnati. Delivered in Dec at the Performance Center. I am a BMWCCA member but have not attended a local (Dayton) mtg yet. Would enjoy getting together if others are interested. I get to cars n coffee at Fuel Coffee shop on Riverside on Saturday mornings relatively often. Might be a convenient way to meet. -Robert. |

Hey guys, hijacking this thread because I also live in Cinci and I'm looking to purchase my first BMW, an M240i. Problem is, every dealer here only has the xDrive...
So this is a long shot, but would anyone let me drive their M235 RWD? I'm not gonna push your car to the limits and crash it and I would slow up if asked, but I kinda want to experience what the RWD feels like before buying. I'll buy you Chipotle as compensation? |

I wish I could say I was a nice enough guy to let someone from the forum drive my brand new car but... aint gonna happen. That said, maybe I could offer this tidbit. I did several test drives on M235's from both local BMW dealers (BMW North and BMW Store) and like you found, they only had the all wheel drive versions. I ended up doing a factory build so was able to get RWD but honestly, I cant say that I really could tell a difference between them. Is there a difference, I am sure there is and maybe if I was looking at my 0-60 times or driving across an ice field I would be able to tell, but in every day driving, I didn't notice it.
One last bit of unasked for advice... Dont let dealer stock influence what you get. Have them do a nationwide inventory search or just have them order one from Germany built out exactly as you want. It takes longer but its entirely worth it, especially if you do a Performance Center (what I did) or European Delivery (what I am doing with my next one) option. Madmatt

I will most definitely be custom ordering.
And I get it. I wouldn't let anyone drive my new car either. But I also can't drop 50k without having driven them both. I'll have to keep looking. |

People in Dayton and Cincinnati have a pretty good chance of seeing my black 240 scooting around.

Just picked up a mineral white M240i as well. Located in the Dayton area and wondering if anyone knows of any good local car meets in the near future?

My '21 M240 is waiting at the port to which I'll then be waiting until Feb for Perf. Center. I'm in downtown Cbus - never really paid any attention to car meets here so not sure what the frequency/quality is like but I'm also interested; In my experience, it seems there are almost more street bikes than nice cars here if you exclude the int'l students at OSU.

Not sure why I never noticed this thread before. Maybe 'cause I wasn't looking?
I'm just outside Cincinnati in Anderson Township. I found my car in Baton Rouge in June, 2018 after another member pointed out that yes, there was indeed a new MT, no-sunroof, RWD M240i for sale at a dealership. I'd tried ordering what I wanted at BMW of Cincinnati North but the window for ordering a 2018 model was closed. As the car in Baton Rouge was a 2017 and had the above combination of specs that the average buyer doesn't want, it had been sitting for a year and was discounted $10K to get it off the lot. I was lucky in that the car was listed online as an automatic with a sunroof, which is why it never showed up in any of my searches, nor in the searches of other enthusiasts looking for that combo. I used the car to drive and instruct at a few HPDEs and now use it for occasional backroad jaunts. I'm planning to take an extended driving trip in late summer/early fall this year and one or more trips anytime from spring through fall in 2022. Even with the performance suspension on it, this is the perfect road trip car for me. I almost never see another 2 Series; I've been here almost 4 years now and have seen only one. I do see an M2 once or twice a year – it's always Long Beach Blue so it may be the same one.

There's two or three M2s (at least one N55 and one CS) in the Buckeye CCA, not sure if those guys are in Cbus or Cincy though. I was amazed to see three M235s at the Cbus cars and coffee a couple weeks ago. Still haven't seen another 240 in person though :/

Bill Bauman is in the Buckeye Chapter and has an M2; he's up in Toledo.

Sweet, he may have been one of the people I met at Mid-Ohio a few weeks ago. Hopefully he and the other 2 owner(s) bring them to the HPDE in August.

Bill's always there. He should be in the garages closest to the toilets. His car number is '002'. Check out the AP Racing front brake kit on his car. The brake ducts feeding the rotors are the coolest part - he had them custom-fabbed by someone in Columbus.

Sweet, I'll keep an eye out. Don't think I saw any M2s with AP Racing's up front when we were at the IMSA weekend - at least not at the cca corral. I can't even remember the name of the M2 CS guy I talked at length with about how much of a nuisance the tension strut is w.r.t Remus midpipes happily bouncing off it
