Great news everyone!
Wifi OBD2 work on 2015 F22 M235 and my F13 2014 M6 Cabrio! I tested it on both cars and the Wifi OBD and Dashcam app worked for both.

Had a chance to use my set-up on my new M235i today, and it worked great. Read both Oil and Coolant temp. My OBD Wifi adapter is the old version of this one (LYL brand), and looks almost exactly like this one. I use the OBD Fusion app.
Once set-up, which consists solely of connecting to the wi-fi network the adapter creates, it auto-connects on start up, and all you have to do is launch the app and tap connect and in a few seconds you are good to go.

I'm still learning how to use the DashCommand app. I'm not sure where to find oil temp.

I just got my obd2 adaptor yesterday!
Going to plug it in today & really hoping all gauges going to fire up nicely Now I know you can't / mustn't use this in conjunction with jb4... But how about in conjunction with the piggy back tunes? Such as racechip, and BMS s1? |

I couldn't find oil temp on DashCommand. OBD fusion app has oil temp so I will download that.

Nope. There isn't one one the 2-series.
We do get multiple versions of gas economy, though.

A quick update on this set-up. I'd been using this off and on for a few weeks, works great. However, I didn't drive me car for three days while it was plugged in, and when I started the car again, while it started fine, it did give me a warning about how something in the car was drawing power while it was shut off and that it could potentially be a problem. Based on this, I won't be leaving it plugged in all the time, since I now know it's drawing a decent amount of power all the time. YMMV.

It's pretty easy to tweak fonts and colors in Torque, just using a text editor. Now I just have to figure out the alarm points for temp as they are much higher than my RX-8.

"Normal" oil temp in an N55 is ~240degF. IIRC, this is the point where the thermostat on the oil filter housing opens and sends oil to the secondary cooler. Limp mode will kick in at ~280-300degF if the E90 series is any indication.

This morning, I did find a few years old N55 reference (pre N55B30o0) that listed temps for system protection: Component protection -coolant temp between 117C and 124C (243F to 255F) -engine oil temp between 150C and 157C (302F to 315F) -result: output of the air conditioning system (up to 100%) and of the engine is reduced. Emergency -coolant temp between 125C and 129C (257F and 264F) -engine oil temp between 158C and 163C (316F and 325F) -result: the power output of the engine is reduced (up to approx 90%) I'm trying get Torque's display to match the car's somewhat. I'm going on a compromise between day and night modes. The cabling tucks under the front tray mat without popping it up, but I couldn't run it through the ashtray hole on the passenger side because there's some plastic under it. A smaller right angle cable would be less intrusive, but this one's thickness keeps the phone from sliding. The oil gauge is blinking due to "low temp" so it looks like the needle or reading is missing in some pics. The 240 "red zone" for coolant will probably get tweaked some as well.

What's your build date?
It's outstanding that Torque is showing you oil temp. It was unsupported on my E92, and I've seen some people get it / some not on an M235i. I'm wondering if there's a build date where the ability to read it with Torque turns on / off.

It's a 2/2/15 car. I had read where some people couldn't read oil temp, but wasn't sure if it was just the adapter or something not encoded. The lack of temp gauges was a sore point with me, so I'm quite happy about this.

Well, wait 4 weeks and we'll get a datapoint for a 4/7/15 build car with a BMWhat OBD adapter.

Has anyone confirmed that coolant and oil temp display in Harry's LapTimer?
I'm sure it will work but curious if someone has tried it already.

ELM327 + Torque Pro and no oil temp
Anyone used it other than me?
Using Torque Pro on a Galaxy S2 over BT with the ELM327, and I do not get Oil Temp. Other than that, works great: instant setup and easy connect with Android/Torque Pro. My car is Nov 2013. Cheers,
