You got a great deal there! My EST unit should arrive tomorrow and I will install this weekend. I'll post up when it's done.

Today I finally got my new screen from Euro Style Tuning installed. The install wasn't that difficult, but since I'm not that familiar with all the new technology, I did end up chatting with EST to get some help. The biggest problem I had was the getting the back up camera to work, but turned out I just needed to drive it a little ways and then it stated working on its own. EST's customer service is really good just like the reviews I read. Here is a before and after pic:

Before:

After:

Quite an improvement and a much larger screen. It has Android auto and carplay but I don't know that I'll even use those features. I'm just happy to have a screen without bubbles!

On a side note: DHL lost my unit by delivering it to the wrong address. I thought I was going to have to have them send a replacement, but my wife found the package at an apartment building on the next road over! DHL should send her a reward!

Install is easy enough. No issues there. I have two fiber optic cables and somehow I broke the lock on the new connector for those so I had to zip tie them in place. I needed a little help with the settings once I got it powered up but EST was right there to chat with me on line. They were super helpful. And if you're using the factory camera, you apparently have to drive a short distance before it works again. I haven't used the Android Auto functions yet, and probably won't (because I'm older and i-drive gives me everything I need). But it all seems to work perfectly at this point and everything fits like it was from the factory.

Do you still have the original factory functions? I already have nav and backup camera in mine.

Yes, all original functions are preserved.

I'm about to replace my screen as well... what settings need tweeked? I'm assuming no "programming" was needed to get the EST screen to work properly...

Correct, there is no programming needed but there are some settings that need to be worked through. I honestly don't remember all of that, but if you chat with EST they will walk you through it. That's how I did mine and they were great.

I purchased a m235 convertible in December and after finding this thread ordered the Euro Style Tuning unit. They happily charged my card and then started a "expecting stock next week" routine and have now gone completely non-communicative. Three months post-order I'm out over $600 bucks and working with my bank regarding fraud.

Quite the first post I know but wanted to warn anyone else considering this option.

Avin unit holding up pretty well

I've installed Avin 10.25 unit last year into my M235i vert, works fairly well so far.

https://avinusa.com/10-25-multimedia...2-f23-f87.html

I would recommend it based on my experience, keeping the following in mind:

Plus:
- Fit: look and feel is great
- Function: added Android Auto and CarPlay
- Function: touch screen - works so much better than shuttle/thumbwheel

Negatives:
- OEM BT: BMW implementation of BT and phone connection is far superior, more ambient noise (convertible though) w/ Avin's version (mic is in the HU, didn't try add-on mic), but it works; if spending lots of time on phone though - would definitely advise connecting your headset/headphones directly to your phone
- Connectivity: periodically (1/4 of the time?) Android Auto refusing to connect, workaround is a HU restart (swipe down twice when unit is on and hit the power button)
- Backup camera: OEM backup camera image looks somewhat worse as the HU screen is higher res but HU doesn't appear to really upconvert it; it's no big deal though, still usable.

I would say overall it's a must if you want CarPlay or Android Auto.

That's weird because I had no issues with them. They were very helpful and communicative for me.

Just installed a PEMP F20 F30 10.25" Android 12 + 6GB as a replacement for my de-laminating factory 8.8" unit. Solid upgrade just for the stock iDrive experience.

NOTE: there is a newer version with android 13 + 8GB memory for $50 more: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09L4T29YN...t_details&th=1

Great Cheap Option

Here's the unit I decided on and recently installed:

https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32568...yAdapt=glo2usa

For the price, I have no complaints, easy use of Android Auto which was my goal.

Any better options than the one posted above?
The time has come to replace my head unit on a 2015 M235i.
