Battery replacement

My car was built in August of 2017. It has the original battery. The battery seems to be fine but.... So I'm looking for replacement suggestions.

Thanks.

H7 or H8 (1.5" longer) AGM battery is specified. Costco sells Interstate, or you can check with your local Interstate dealer.

My car is a 5/2017 build and I was wondering about this earlier this year, too.

The first thing I did was buy a CTEK Battery Analyzer (https://www.cspracing.com/ctek-56-92...r/ctek-56-925/) and test the battery.

The CTEK unit's results continuum is basic:

BATTERY GOOD Return the battery to service. No action required.
GOOD / RECHARGE Fully charge the battery and return to service.
CHARGE & RETEST Fully charge the battery and retest.
REPLACE BATTERY Test results indicate that the battery is failing and should be replaced.

The CTEK unit came back with 'REPLACE BATTERY'. Given that I use the car only occasionally and there had been no other indications that the battery was in need of immediate replacement, I noted the CTEK unit's result and took no action.

A few months later, the car was in to the dealer for its annual service. I asked for a battery test and received this result: "75% state of health". The service advisor said they were confident the unit was good at least through the upcoming winter.

I chose to replace it during that service visit. The new battery, installed, cost $490.00. The replacement battery was a 92AH unit, OEM part no. 61215A40E29, which was charged at $303.

If it gets cold where you live in Virginia then replacing a 7 year old battery is just good sense. I went with an Odyssey and if you buy it from FCP Euro you will never have to pay for another battery again.
