Disable driving mode pop-up on iDrive?

Does anybody know how to temporarily disable the display that pops up between switching driving modes for Eco pro/comfort/sports/sports+ ? Sometimes I’m driving with passengers I’d like it to be more discreet when I’m changing my drive modes. Has anybody done this?

I just push my idrive knob to the left to get rid of that screen quick

Yes, its in idrive settings>displays - somewhere in there is a box to uncheck for that.

Black tape over the display does the trick.
To me at least, the switch from Comfort to Sport, not to mention Sport+, is pretty noticeable (exhaust, suspension). I suspect that even the most naive passenger would tell pretty quickly. Plus, it is a bit creepy that you feel the need to hide such a thing from anyone.

Are you married? My wife would be on her phone, not noticing anything...and my luck, she'd see that message hang out a hair too long on the center screen and make a comment.
Worth it just to avoid that, sometimes. And I prefer sport, generally (in most cars, waiting to take delivery of my 2 next week ), but I'd change to comfort for a bad stretch of road to keep everyone comfortable and back to sport if roads smooth out and I could get away with it...

Have you considered marriage counseling?
My wife knows when I am driving like a maniac, regardless of what the screen says.
Solution: drive like a maniac when she is not in the car.

Took me a couple tries to find it, it's a bit buried, but it's in the standard iDrive settings somewhere.

It's in the menus. Look for it. It's not rocket science.

If its so simple why not just help him and tell him?!

My vehicle > idrive settings > pop-ups > (untick this) driving experience control
