2016 M235i Estoril Blue in San Diego

I just purchased my new baby M235i in Estoril Blue.

I don't know what I need to add on my new baby.

It just got over 1,300 miles so should I go change the engine oil??

Thank you!

BMW recommends that M cars get their first oil change at 1,200 miles so I decided if it was good enough for them it was good enough for my M235. I bought the oil and filter online from amazon and did the oil change myself. Personally I think 12,000 miles between changes is too many miles, I plan on doing one change at home in between the BMW service schedule. If you are leasing I suppose you might not be so picky.

Congratulations. Enjoy. As far as oil changes, that topic has been hotly debated over the years and I think it's basically up to the individual.

I think I did my first oil change at around 2,200 miles and then the dealer did another one going by time in the service schedule around 5,000.

Thats the problem with our society, people jump at the opportunity to sh*t on others just to sh*t. It would have been just as easy for your comment to read, "nice car" but you had to go the other way. I guess treating others the way you'd like to be treated is much harder when hidden behind a computer screen. Nice job, now everyone here knows we don't drive real M cars. :thump:

and to the OP, beautiful car. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my BSM, but every time i see an EBII it makes me a little regretful that I didn't go that direction.

For clarity, and a non-douche answer, the oil used in an M car is thinner and should not be run for more than 1200 miles, hence the early, and essential, oil change.

To my knowledge, the M235i engine does not have this requirement, but if you want to change it, why not? Your car, your money.

For even more clarity, I own an E92 M3, and my wife has an M235i on order. To me it's a pretty great car, and let's be clear here, it has more torque than my V8, is faster than an E46 M3 (my last M car) and that's not half bad. Haters gonna hate. :P

(Mineral white, Terra leather and fineline wood, before anyone asks!)

Thank you! Finally someone with some sense and understood what I meant.

The real douche is someone who loves to call other people "douche".

Thanks for all the comments

Actually, I visited to the SD BMW service center last week and made an appointment to change the engine oil. They said it will be free of charge. So, I decided to change the engine oil. Why not right?

I'm in La Jolla Area

I'll post more pics later!

No, the real douche is too clueless to realize when they have been owned by this:

Next time don't open your big trap to try and call someone out when you did not understand what they were saying in their post to begin with.

Beautiful car, wishing I was in Socal today...
