Dinan springs on an Xdrive here. Mine sits noticeably lower in the back. I don't like the stance.
I would highly recommend Xdrive vehicles stay away from these springs for this reason. I'm disappointed with Dinan given the information on their website and the end result produced from their product. Had I known my car would end up sitting higher in the front than the back I certainly wouldn't have purchased their springs.

The Dinan springs were designed primarily to give the car better handling characteristics. If leaving the car stock would have had better handling than with the springs, I wouldn't have lowered it. If I look at the body of my car from the side, even though the front and back wheel wells have slightly different clearances, the under carriage of the car is level with the road instead of being jacked up in the rear as with other setups.
I've updated my earlier post with most of the specs of my setup. http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showt...php?p=22489554 Last edited by AlpsRider; 02-02-2018 at 11:43 AM.. |

I have Dinan springs on my M235 Xdrive. Like others have said, their is slightly more drop in the rear as compared to the front but personally I like the look. You can see pics here:

thank you! Besides the cosmetics, I have noticed reduced body roll as well...not that these cars have much body roll to begin with, but the car does seem more planted with quick turns. This was my first experiencing with dropping a car and with Dinan, and while there are cheaper options out there, I'm very pleased with the quality of their product and the peace of mind that comes with the warranty. My only regret is that the Dinan Shockware tune is not available for the M235!

Rear low
I just got done installing the Dinan D100-0927 springs on my M235i xDrive, the drop I measured from stock:
F: -0.4 inches R: -0.98 inches Haven't had a chance to get out and drive much yet, but it looks a little low in the rear. Dinan advertises the D100-0927 springs as a drop of: F: -0.5 R: -0.625 (5/8) But it seems I got a full inch drop in the rear, which is what they advertise for the RWD springs ... |

Dinan Spring Spacer
I have been daily driving (and auto-crossing) my xDrive car on Dinan springs for a couple months now, very happy with the performance of the springs.
But the rear of my car always looked a little bit too low to me. I contacted Dinan and they set me up with a set of spring spacers which raised the rear of the car 10mm. It's not a huge change, but I am very happy with the stance of the car now. |

In addition, wheel size makes a difference- a 1/2 life rear tyre has as much as 5mm less than a front- and some can visually see them as smaller. New 225/35/R20 vs 255/30/r20 are 26.2 and 26 rear, or 5 mm difference. 3 months later in a Pirelli life, the rear tyre nears 10 mm difference while the front is still at 809 32nds. Personally I never worn out a front tyre, ended up donating them. You would then beg that the rear space is filled. In addition, like the Ms, the front has a larger wheel well to compensate for turn-in and absorption. If the front was equal to rear (as it happened to H&R owners, one described a Grand Canyon feel when the front bottomed)- with a turn, you get both bottoming and can get scraping of the wheel well- again relative to wheel diameter. Consequently, the front wheel well being larger is practical engineering. And yes, with 1-2 people in the car, front lowers a bit. In the end, adding the 10 extra mm in the rear is a poor decision, as one just raised the rear arbitrarily, thus negating the intended effect and design. Slightly off-topic but: In theory us X-drive owners could get away with replacing OEM rear shocks for stiffer ones and leaving the front struts as-is due to their stiffer construction? ... been wanting to have this question answered for some time now since I'm x-drive with EDC (yeah, talk about limited suspension options ) and i found out Bimmerworld sells Bilstein EDC compatible rear shocks..
Thanks! |

I have rwd and rear is tucked.. I will have to check my pns to make sure there wasn't a mix up for springs.
Anyone have the sticker pns for the front and rear springs so I can reference? Update : Rears are D100-0797a but I'm still not sure if these are correct because there is another recent thread that states Dinan said Rears are D100-0797. Can anyone confirm? My rears are so low.. Update 2: after comparing I think driver rear is good, but passenger rear is lower than it should
