ugh...but why? i mean, it doesnt look awful...but it's not an ///M

i normally wouldnt have commented, but you did ask...

i would go de-badged over adding an ///M

Looks good! Great choice going black to match the shadow-line trim.

BMW has M badges all over the 230i with the M sport line. I see nothing wrong with adding one more badge.

Putting an M badge on the entry level car of the entry level series (sold in the US at least) is obviously a topic of debate, that aside...

Where did you source the M? It looks too tall relative to other badging.

Believe me I know. I've seen a lot of bickering and snobbery over it in the number of years I've been on the forums. I've decided that I like it (and really that's all that matters) because it adds more black to the rear of the car. After installing the black grills and carbon mirror caps, I felt I needed something black at the back to balance the vehicle color scheme. I'm still on the fence about a small cf deck lid spoiler.

In regards to the badge, I got it on eBay. It was one of the few gloss black badges I could find. You are correct. It is a tad taller than the oem digits. I decided to center it with a small overlap top and bottom to try to balance it.

Not trying to hate, but I’m not a fan. Non-enthusiasts won’t notice and enthusiasts will think it is a poser move. But at the end of the day it’s your car and it doesn’t really matter what I think.

I think the small CF spoiler would look great especially with the mirror caps. my 2-er is a sport-line and has the gloss black trim including mirror caps — ive pretty decide to add the small lip spoiler in gloss black using the same logic to balance the colors / accents. I may do the gloss black grill as well.

It just looks out of place being out of scale, if you want to go down that rabbit hole I'd suggest getting a stock one and painting it black. IND can help you if you don't want to DIY. That said...

I think you're infinitely better off debadging entirely and getting a black spoiler. GF has a red 3-series with the OEM CF spoiler, debadged, and it looks great. Black grilles and mirrors.

Not in the slightest...your car, your choice. It just looks off to me, as if a mis-build. A good MPerformance 2 Series spoiler, rear diffuser, etc. in black could satisfy your black craving. My eyes just think this was a step backward.

My car is an m sport (with m badges all over it) I don't think this will fit.

This.

The proportions look off. The black is very nice indeed! I'd redo this with all the same size. I'm sure IND will be of great help!

Make it look same size, looks much better!

Thanks.

I haven't done anything with it yet. Just got it on the 31st of March.

I will put some Hydro Silex on it this weekend though.

Installed an MPE and MP Diffuser today on my 2017 230i.

MPE is from a 2016 M235i and look a bit of modification to fit properly, but it was a super fun job!

Resonator still in place; love the sound. The diffuser really does so much for the rear of the 2 series!
