Does the 2 series still have a CD player?

I see that BMW has started dropping CD players in some of the newer models, I couldn't find a definitive answer on whether or not the 2 series still has one. The list of standard features just says "AM/FM stereo", no mention of a CD player. I'm looking to order a 2021 model, does anyone know for sure if it will have a CD player? Thanks.

Interesting... configurator shows a new base screen and it looks like there is a blank plate where the CD player is supposed to be.

Edit: adding nav brings the CD player back according to official pics...

I dont have an answer for you and you may use yours. but seeing this post made me realize I haven't put a single CD in my F22 the entire time I've had it.

When I test drove it, it had Halite by Shahram Solati in it. When I bought it, it was gone. kinda wanted it.

I don't even know if it can read MP3's. Never had I inserted a CD as well. CD's are dead just like casettes.

Give it a few years. Once CDs and CD players are totally gone, they will be considered vintage and hipsters will drop their vinyl in favor of CDs. Those gigantic Kenwood decks from the 80's will skyrocket in value.

Don't forsake cassettes!

I think this is correct. Also, I took a look at some 2021 M240i photos on Autotrader and the ones with Nav have a CD slot. No Nav, no slot.

You're right! Here's a 2021 without nav. CD slot is missing.

Adding to the confusion, I finally got a reply to the BMW Genius email inquiry I submitted two weeks ago. They told me BMW has discontinued CD players, but they made no mention of the specific model I asked about. So I have no idea if this is correct or not, and if not, it certainly wouldn't be the first time BMWNA has given me bad information.

Given that they are redesigning this model for next year, would they really bother making this change in the final year of the F22? I guess I don't see the point of offering an upgraded HK sound system while only offering heavily compressed playback options.

I was hoping someone would be able to give a definitive answer on this once the 2021 models started arriving. Thanks.

I have CD in mine, but I burned most of my CDs onto my PC hard drive in lossless FLAC format and then copied to an external hard drive which I plug into my USB port in the car. 2 TB of music sounds as good as you can get from the sound system.

My 2021 F23 has a cd/dvd player... I can't confirm it works but it's there.
