M2 carbon front strut brace retrofit possible/ worth it

Just curious. Is it possible to retrofit the M2 carbon fiber strut brace to the m240i. And is it worth it ?

M2 doesn’t have a carbon strut brace. Think you’re thinking of the m3/m4 brace.

Assuming you have a coupe - just get the convertible corner braces and an aftermarket strut brace. $300 vs $3000.

Hit up MikeF87LCI (I think I got his profile name right) in the "What did you do for your M2 today" thread as he posted today he added the brace to his N55 equipped M2, so I don't see why it would be an issue for the F22.

The coupe doesn't have the necessary mounting holes for the corner braces. This was discussed in a thread on here a few years back. It would have to be custom fabbed/welded to fit.

Think of all the other ways that you could get cool for that price. Maybe start with a zoot suit or a large gold personal ornament. My wife would spend the money on diamonds. The possibilities are endless.

No way is this going to be worth it in any conventional sense of the term. There are so many places to spend money that will produce better results. Of course, I have big hands, so I'm really only talking about handling improvements. I'm sure there is a flock of supermodels that are cruising around right now looking for the guy who is cool enough to retrofit the M2comp engine brace......

Lol. Yeah I hear you 100%. I wasn't asking for practicality over other mods, nor cost efficiency, more just on if it's possible and improves anything. Also a little. It of cool factor for my "small hands" lolol.

I was very sceptical of the carbon brace doing anything. I had already fitted the aluminium M car firewall brace as it is lighter and better braced than the steel stock F2x brace. I didn't notice any difference with that upgrade. When a low priced carbon brace appeared up for sale I thought 'what the heck' and bought it, expecting it to be eye candy only.

Driving it, I actually think it has made a difference.

BMW must think so too. After fitting I read the WIS from BMW to make sure I hadn't done anything incorrectly, and it cautions the technician to not drive the car with the carbon element removed.

I agree that, in terms of coolness, this is right up there, since it is not normally visible. My neighbor down the street just put a giant wing on his C7 Corvette. Now that is VISIBLE, hence highly uncool.
Remember that the coolest dude ever was Miles Davis, and he rarely said a word.

There are several M2 that have been retro fitted with the M2C carbon strut. No reason it can't be done for a M235i or M240i. Not cheap though.
