Can't say enough good things about this Lci. Looks great and let's the fundemtal positive qualities of the car shine without burning the enthusiasts who already bought one.

Here's to hoping some rational bmw product planning is actually coming back.

No-bumper re-design for the M-Sport models means the headlights retain the same shape and will fit. Tail lights will also definitely fit.
If the 2 series LCI follows suit of the 3 series LCI, both the headlights and taillights will need some wiring modifications.
Instrument panel seems to be the same shape and might be retrofitable too.

The instrument cluster is definitely not fully digital. Seeing as they're white at night I'm seeing that the dials are analogue with just the numbers being digital/LED.

EDIT: I think I might be wrong, in this video if you watch it in high quality at around 1:34, the dials seem to lack any kind of depth. I think it's digital with just the surrounding bezel with the gauge marks being the physical part

So for us current owners, realistically we should be able to retrofit the headlights and taillights along with the Style 719m wheels.

As someone who's doing ED of a 2017 M240i in July I was waiting for this for a long time just to find out what I was missing out on. So far I'm pretty conflicted.

Interior: Digital cluster I want, new layout of plastic/trim on the dash I do NOT want (it looks terrible). Also the article suggests the new iDrive and carplay are new for the LCI, but these were added in 2017.

Outside: I don't like the new grills at all. Impartial on the rear lights, definitely do NOT like the new headlights. Coming from a F32 with full adaptive LEDs the non-adaptive LEDs look terrible and I'd rather have xenons with full halos then this hexagonal stuff.

Wheels: I want, only because the 436Ms are pretty old at this point and I like having wheel options.

Nice changes. The biggest mistake a lot of manufacturers make with the LCI, mid-cycle refresh, whatever you want to call it, is that they over-embellish the car with garish bits of trim to make it appear "new." BMW shows admirable restraint here! Subtle stuff, but enough changes to be meaningful.

Nothing I'll miss having on my '17 that's on order, though. I kinda like the 436 wheels, and I'll probably change them out after a while anyway. Pretty excited that Apex just announced two new styles of wheel, getting away from the mesh look of Arc-7 and -8. (Love the Arc-8s on my E46, though, but they're hard to clean!!)

I do wish they'd swap the beaver-tail interior door pull for something more elegant.

I'm pretty sure it's just the light. I think both spokes have a kink on the side facing the twin spoke like the 400M wheels.

The press release only says "New instrument display with black-panel design", nothing else. You'd think they would make more of a fuzz if it was all digital.

Check this instagram video of the 2018 1 series. It clearly shows the blank displays with car turned off.
