I don't think a lot of people have these, although I've been thinking about it. I haven't seen them in person, but does it matter? Are they contoured or shaped such that flipping them over changes them? Maybe some pics would help people figure out what's what.

How are they installed? Do they mount up with existing rocker panel mounting points? If so, it appears the mounting holes are not symmetrical front to back so you could compare the holes under the car to each blade.
This is a left rocker panel: Note the gap in the mounting points as you approach the front of the car. Seems like that would correspond to the gap in the mounting holes of the side blade: Might be worth crawling around beside your car a bit and just comparing parts to find out. I've been considering those myself for a while... be sure and post some pictures once you're installed. |

I have checked trying both blades on the same side and they appear to fit either one.
Uridian; They mount via 3m tape that goes the entire length and in one of the ends it has an additional double sided tape that is about 2/3" long. After is installed by the tape then you have to drill little holes into the side skirt and use the plastic pop rivets that comes in the kit. This week end will try to mount them or if anyone that already has them installed can post a pic from below showing one of the ends, front or back and what side then I can go from there... |

I installed these 3 weeks ago, if you look very close you can see the blade is a bit thicker towards the front and gets thinner as you get closer to the back of the car. Also iirc the front of the blade, there is a small indent.
Also when installing, be VERY careful as the 3M tape is EXTREMELY strong and if you stick it on the car after using the adhesion promoter it is a pain to realign. |

Pic of painted side splitter bladess
Here are pics of ones I had custom painted & installed myself. I will tell you this - they gather road dirt after riding around on wet roads. Put a couple of coats of good wax on them.
Pull the trigger - you'll be happy you did. These things add a great visual touch, for sure.

Here are some pics I posted a little bit ago. The diffuser part of the rear balance is painted orange. The color is BMW's Valencia Orange. It is more orange than the reddish-orange you see in some of the pics. More like a slightly handle new(er) penny.

I just notice the orange part of the diffuser is barely noticeable. I will post another better pic once the sun comes out again here in CT. Been cloudy/rainy for over a week, very damned day!

More pics of the diffuser for you
Here you go!! Hope this gives you a good idea of how contrasting paint schemes look. The folks that did this for me came highly recommended. And let me tell ya - it's perfect. Straight lines, no over-spray - PERFECT.
(Just an FYI - no scratches on the bumper or diffuser. All reflections. I know how to wax a car. heh heh)

Price of the blades
Go to ebay & look up sunmotorsbmwparts (seller). Best prices for genuine BMW parts, including M Performance. (Example - I got the MP exhaust for $790; SS finishers for $170 for both.)
I don't recall how much the blades were because Brian @ sunmotors packaged them with the rear diffuser for $530 total & didn't show separate price. I'd probably guess $350 for the diffuser & $180 for the blades. And it's free shipping. And they ship FAST FAST FAST, packaged very well. Everyone in the general 2 series forums talks about sunmotors. QUOTE=kd0t;19899812]How much are the blades?[/QUOTE]
