no pic.
Can you describe how it looks like?

I bought the diffuser online with adapter and chrome tips.

It appears I only received the diffuser and 2 chrome tips.

Are the adapters built into the chrome tips or are they separate?

they come in a separate box with 2 metal clamps. they are simple metal sleeves. sounds like you didn't receive them.

Are the clamps L-shaped?

I have those that came with the diffuser but they appear to be for the diffuser.

Also. The diffuser came with like a rubber stopper. Where is that suppose to go?

Just for future reference, you can see both the adapter and the clamp in this photo:

Do not be surprised if you have to spend upwards of a minute pushing on some of the center clips. This photo shows the clips not all the way in.

Here is a photo after really pressing on the diffuser to get those clips in. Was rather painful!
Which direction are you pushing for the clips? My diffuser was installed at the port, but it has a small gap between the bumper and it. I think maybe the clips weren't installed fully?
Since I never saw the diffuser part off, I'm not clear on how these clips work... any more details to point me in the right direction?
Thanks

@Cybertronic I had to use a tremendous amount of force to get the clips fully pressed in. You would almost feel like you are going to crack the paint (but you won't).

OK, but am I pushing UP from the bottom of the diffuser towards the trunk...or am I pushing IN towards the front of the car.
Sorry I'm being lame on this...but I've not see the diffuser off car, so I dont know what the clips look like, or where I should be pushing. I just know I have a gap.

@cybertronic

You will be better adding a little force form under the diffuser and than push in towards the front of the car. You have to start pressing the first clip that appears to not be in all the way than work your way to the next.

Do two "extenders" come in one kit? Should be able to pick those up at any auto parts store like O'Reily for just a few dollars each.

If you buy the "tail pipe extenders", they come as a pair. Although they are just pipes, the exact pipe will be hard to find locally so make sure to order it and have it ready. Be prepared for the fact that you need to cut the stock exhaust pipes to attach the extenders, they are TOUGH to cut. Sawzall is your friend on this one. Here is a link to the install info. http://www.2addicts.com/forums/attac...1&d=1411568438

Thanks for this. I just ordered the diffuser for my 228i (not switching to the 235i bumper).

Just installed. Piece of cake! I did not use the tail pipe extenders. Doesn't seem really necessary (especially for a leased car).

Post pics please! Considering the 228i diffuser as well because I'm too poor to retrofit an exhaust.

Would have been great to have that info prior to installing the adapter pipes, but truth be told, if you cut the pins and file them down, it works just as well.

sorry to revise this but I'm also having trouble getting the whole diffuser flush. My middle three clips can't seem to clip on and it's leaving a small gap. This was before I saw your post tho so I'll have to go back and try using more force.

just curious but are u rly supposed to use "tremendous amount of force" or is it like a bad part? the stock part goes back in quite easily.

I know this is an old thread but I appreciated you posting this. Ordered my rear diffuser over the weekend and surprised me by arrived yesterday. I decided to tackle it last night in the dark with some lanterns/flashlights and found the install to be fairly straight forward. I didnt find the clips to be that difficult to push in. What I did first was push them in just a tad. Then I started putting in the screws a bit and went back to putting a little more pressure on the clips. Seemed like the screws helped hold it in the right position and a little extra push on each clip popped them right in. Thanks again for the DIY.

I got my diffuser in early this week as well. Currently it is at the paint shop.

As "YYZF22N55" mentioned a year ago, and it is not mentioned in this article......I also got two "L" type clamps (not exhaust related at all) as well as a rubber string.

Did you get these, if so where do they go?

The instruction manual shows where they go but I didn't find a use for them and installed without them.
