I want m235i louder

I recently got a 2016 m235i with the msport exhaust. Wanted to take some suggestions on what I should get done to make it louder. I am for sure getting an intake but was wondering if I should do a muffler delete, downpipe, ect. I dont want a lot of drone but I want it to sound nice.

Start with a sport cat, you will add some sound and power.

I want m235i louder

For a cheap option I had my resonator deleted and a pipe welded in for about $70. I'd say it increases the volume roughly 10-20% and made the burbles quite a bit louder.

If you already have an m performance exhaust as resonator delete would pair nicely.

Either get the dinan midpipe or get an exhaust shop to weld in a piece like someone mentioned above.

MPE with ER dp (catless) and stock mid pipe (with resonator), sounds perfect, literally zero drone with exhaust valve closed. Open the valve and it sounds epic

I second this. I have the ER catless with m performance exhaust and the downpipe made a huge difference. There is vids on youtube for you to get an idea. I doubt you will need any louder lol.

VRSF is cheaper. Is there a reason I should go with the ER. Also I have been sugested catted downpipes but If the catless does not drone then I dont see why I would go with a catted downpipe.

Depends if you have emissions in your state, if so then catted DP.

Take "catless doesn't drone" with a grain of salt, that's VERY subjective and varies according to the exhaust setup. Myself I have catted DP, with resonator and Dinan muffler and there is a small range where I get some droning, livable but definitely there.

Some people have also reported "raspiness" when pairing the MPE with a catless DP, made worse when removing the resonator. Just something to keep in mind.

Muffler/Res delete will create mild drone but give you insane backfire and pops. cheapest way for the best sound.

buy my fabspeed delete...

remove the resonator...
Change your dp to cattless - Loudest, sport cat - not loud.

Tune it, add pops and bangs.

Any muffler delete will drone a decent amount, sometimes it doesn't bother folks though.

If you are going fully catless, it will be pretty load with a muffler delete as it's in essence straight pipes.

The M sport exhaust is a pretty favorable exhaust, so you might want to try going with a catless downpipe instead for sound.

The reasons people go catted are for either emissions, quieter sound, smoother sound or smell to name a few.

OP, if u want loud, consider my set up. ER catless downpipe, eisenmann straight mid pipe,
and eisenmann race exhaust. Cold start is really loud lol. However, after cold start, it’s fine. I don’t notice any drone possibly because sound deadening is quite good in our car.
