Used M performance spoiler install help

I got a used m performance CF spoiler, and need some tape to install it.

I found that there are 2 different 3m tapes, that are good, but differ in thickness.

I am planning on used 3M Automotive Acrylic Plus Attachment tape,

it comes in both 45mil, and 60mil.

any idea which I should use?

Pretty sure you want the 3M VHB double sided tape to mount it, in like a 1/4in width.

3M Automotive Acrylic Plus Attachment tape is a VHB. Its a better version of the standard tape.

I just dont know if the thinner tape 45mil, would be thick enough.

When I installed my performance spoiler I used the thinnest 3m tape. I also made sure to tape all areas of the spoiler that would be in contact with the car to ensure it won't come off.

Cool. Thanks.

I'm planning on using the 1/2 wide tape, and filling in all the areas where the original grove for tape was. I got every trace of tape out.

I'm assuming you put it in the groove where the original tape was and had no problems with it sticking using the thin tape?

I haven't had any issues. It's been on for a year and still sturdy.

Thanks installed this weekend. Worked perfectly.

I did thinks slightly different from what I've read.

I installed the tape how it looked like in the OEM manual (4 pieces of tape split in the middle).

Then I lined up the spoiler on the trunk, and used long pieces of masking tape to hold it in place on the top of the trunk. I then slowly lifted the spoiler up towards the window just enough to get at the film release tape. I then pulled the tape release, and pulled the spoiler tight against the masking tape and then pressed down. worked great.
