As a business, BMW is doing great. Revenue and profits are up, and the board is as happy as they can be. As a car company focused on enthusiasts, BMW has long lost its way.

IMHO the Panamera is pretty damned ugly too. I will say, though that this Tourer minivan is not nearly as ugly as the Honda Odyssey. I saw a black one yesterday and wondered whether it came with a coffin as standard equipment. I suppose there is a place for this thing but there is no question that it dilutes the brand. Maybe BMW should create a sub-brand for all these "people mover" vehicles and preserve the image of the BMW brand.

The Panamera is good enough to outweigh its questionable styling though, this thing can't do that.

Price point will determine if Toyo with the Sienna and Honda with their Odyssey should start worrying though I'd imagine some of those folks would love to move "upstream" into a BMW Mom mobile even if it makes us cringe.
Something tells me they will be lining up for one of these! Have you seen the prices of today's minivans? They are well in the 40's!

EDIT: i have been wanting to see a BMW van...
... but now that we get it, i just can't seem to find it right...

Somehow, it looks ok, it's not bad, but it just doesn't look right...
...i am still having a hard time seeing it as a BMW...

I am sure lots of people will like it... (unless it is too expensive for what it is, which is most likely)... it looks like the BMW badge has been slapped on something else...
