Had one back in 2003 - 2007. Loved it, but can't have one now - need rear seats for 2 grand-kids.

Just got under the wire with my '19 build. According to the dealer, one of the last ones. I still haven't seen anything on '20 SOP. I'm sure the 2020s will have some new feature or color that will entice me, but that will happen every year. Really fired up about the new ride!

Wow, I guess they are serious about the February end of production. Has anyone solved the mystery?

Here's my best guess on the "why". Their goal is to expand by 100K units in 2020. The may have to shut down (at least partially) for re-tooling, moving machinery, etc.

Dunno, but maybe to move next MY 2-series production to Mexico?

I hear you, but a lengthy shutdown generally means retooling or move of production to new facilities and since there's no MY2020 LCI, the more likely suspect is a move of F22/F23 production to a new facility.

If Leipzig is going to expand by 100K units (see article above) and continue to supply the 2 series to Europe, why wouldn't they export some of the '20s they produce to North America after they re-start production pending the re-design/move to Mexico for the '21s? I would think they would want to take advantage of the potential revenue. Unless they're going to skip a model year? I'm surprised something hasn't leaked out yet.

With MY2020 builds about to start soon in a few months, will the MY2021 coming out in calendar year 2020 come with a refreshed look and/or increased engine specs? If so, should we expect a similar looking front end to what the new 3 series looks like? Debating if it's worth getting a MY2020 vs waiting for a MY2021.
