Anyone running higher than stock profile tires on 18" wheels?
I think a lot of people have noted that the wheel wells on these cars look cavernous. But, I noticed that I tend to like how my winter tires (Blizzak WS80 225/40/18 square) fill the space better than my summer tires (stock MPSS staggered). The profile measurement on the winters is about the same as the summers, but the blockier tread seems to add some visual mass to the tires. I've also seen someone using meatier looking Federal tires.
I don't really want to mess with the suspension, so I was thinking of adding a little bit of extra sidewall when I replace my summers. Anyone else running higher profile tires? If so, what are your thoughts?

225/45-18 Sottozero 3 winter tyres for my car, no clearance issues with 18x8" ET45 wheels all around due to the fact BMW leaves enough space for cable-style chains to be fitted to 225/40-18 tyres.
