NEW RELEASE: Free Flow Exhaust / Mid-Pipe (F22 M240i)
Based on the wildly successful F30 340i exhaust, the M240i exhaust exhibits the same aggressive burbles and intoxicating sounds as its predecessor... perhaps even with a little more attitude. Dinan engineers designed the F22 M240i exhaust to improve exhaust flow by reducing back pressure, resulting in increased power output and a great sporty sound that is civilized when you want it to be, and pleasantly aggressive under hard acceleration. Not only is the tone improved but the additional burbles and pops that come with it are simply intoxicating. Dinan also incorporates a Helmholtz chamber design that reduces resonance or "drone" at low RPM. The system is built to exacting specifications to ensure perfect fit using the factory hangers. It is made from 100% 16 gauge 304 stainless steel and will resist corrosion for years to come. The design features twin 89mm (3.5") ceramic black or polished stainless exhaust tips for a tasteful, high-performance look. For those that simply want a bit more volume the optional Dinan High Flow Mid-pipe for the F22 M240i allows for an aggressive tone to be achieved out of the stock system. Coupled with the associated Dinan exhaust the sound is further perfected into an aggressive growl that is hard to ignore. This full mid-section removes the factory center section, including both resonators, and replaces it with straight through 3.25" T304 stainless steel tubing for better flow, and sound while also reducing the weight by 3 pounds. Benefits of the Dinan Stainless Free Flow Exhaust for the F22 M240i:

Shipping is free if the total for the order is over $500 (before tax). Feel free to contact your area sales guy at 1-800-341-5480 x2105 and see if he can waive on his end. You can also purchase directly through a dealer and wouldn't get charged shipping as an alternative. We do not offer coupon codes. Keep telling the web guys to remove the option from the shopping cart but alas... Goes against our MAP policy and new distribution philosophy ultimately. |

Is the midpipe then not just a sound mod but a power mod if I coupled it with my elite tune? I have a MPE and am thinking of coupling the midpipe with that. Thoughts?

No power is being made by the inclusion of the mid-pipe. Purely a sound modification. I would shy away from the mid-pipe personally if you have the MPE. On other models, can't say for sure with the M240i but have to assume it would be the same, the mid-pipe doesn't mate cleanly with the MPE and would require some modification.

Nether of the guys I would ask are here today. Tight so the pipe doesn't move would be my answer. Super scientific, I know. Contact tech support and they may know off hand. Even if they don't they could get you the information much more readily then I. |

Is the mid pipe the same diameter as the stock mid pipe? The M235 MPE does not have a slip fit connection (relies on clamp) the M240 MPE slips over the midpipe. |

This is all just guesswork though based on loose information since we haven't seen a MPE equipped M240i in the shop however. |

this may work IF the Dinan mid pipe is the same size as the MPE (as it is made for the stock tube to slip in) BUT the MPE has a clamp welded on / relief cuts in the tube. you will also have to cut the Dinan part down as it is made to fit the stock exhaust cut at the dimple. |
