I just got off the phone with Andrew...I can't believe there aren't enough requests for the sport line mod. So Sad at this point...

Hoping IND takes care of me...they should be able to just repaint my reflectors for another customer as my color is not available in the M-Sport configuration...

Before / After shots

Just installed. Like others note, the bottom snaps are a right pain and because I did not spend 10 mins slowly manipulating, I just snapped a clip and the reflectors come out quickly.

New ones fit like OEM and the look is much improved imo. Don't mind the color shifts, my bumper has an xPel wrap and UK quartz coating - so the new reflector replacements will have to get the same treatment.

Thanks, IND!

I tried to install mine over the weekend and gave up after 20min. I could only reach the top clip and it was impossible to push the reflector out far enough to grab a corner from the outside. You can't reach the bottom clip at all as there is a piece of the bumper that protect it- at least that's what it seemed like.

I finally gave up fearing that I was missing something and I didn't want to damage the bumper.

I guess I haven't missed anything so I'll try again tomorrow.

On a lease, does BMW care if the OEM reflector isn't replaced when turning the car in? No one will notice, right?

Unfortunately, that is a question for your service adviser. The response to this question can vary based on the dealership.

Well, I just ordered a set of the un-reflectors for a car that I won't see for a few more days yet. My very first aftermarket parts for the new ride. I was trying not to do that, but man, those reflectors are fugly !, The painted ones look much better.

Andrew and IND took care of me and my ignorance. I have looked everywhere for a 228 reflector and have found nothing. I know it's not a big deal, but with the Deep Sea Blue the Orange just sticks out something fierce and I can't stand it!!!

Thanks IND!

Put mine on yesterday, thanks IND. Car looks much smoother now that those ugly orange reflectors are gone.

Installation problems:

2015 M235i

One of the mounting holes for the wheel well cover is attached to the bumper right in front of the bottom tabs. Speaking of the tabs, either i'm a wimp or they are impossible to pinch. So what I did, is I took a small pair of needle nose pliers. I broke off one of the top tabs (bent the shit out of it really), and pushed the top half through. Then while holding the reflector, very slowly and with minimum pressure required. I pulled the reflector until the bottom detached. This is very risky as you could break the molding that secures the reflector. But it was the only thing I could think to do. Ended up working out for me and my IND black replacements are sitting firmly in place now.

Anyone install these on the 2016s yet? The liner on my 2016 is fairly rigid plastic and doesn't feel like I can safely peel it back to access the reflector tabs.

I just did mine on a 2016. Bottom tabs are hard but it came out.

So you were able to pull back the liner back far enough to get a hand in on the 2016 M235i ? If so, I'll give it another go...

Just installed these, huge pain in the ass but I got them done. I have the parking sensors so it was a bit difficult to get to the bottom clips. I destroyed my hands since the clips are pretty hard to depress. They look amazing though!

I just got mine on (2016 M235i with parking sensors). I was able to get the reflectors off without breaking off any clips, but the job was as bad as people have said. What helped was wearing gloves so I didn't kill my hands trying to pinch the top clips. I used these, but any decent pair that isn't too think should be fine:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FPAS2K/...keywords=Work+

What I also did that helped slightly was take some twine, looped it through the center hole after the three screws were removed, then pulled back and tied the twine to a wheel spoke so that the liner wasn't digging into my wrist.

Then it was just pinching the top clips while pushing out, and then inserting a trim tool on the outside to help simultaneously pull the reflector out from the other end.

Once the top clips are out, I followed the tip that someone in this thread shared about just focusing on the clip closer to the front of the car (I couldn't really access the other one anyway), depressing it toward you while using your other hand to grab the free top part of the reflector and gently pulling out.

Yeah… their shipping costs are not good. On the other hand, people seem mostly satisfied with their product.

Update:
I received and installed mine. The cold, wet day did me no favors for the installation or snapping photos, but I'm satisfied with the end result. I also installed my M Performance front grill from IND at the same time:

so how hard of a job is this with a 2015 + parking sensors? I skimmed through this thread and I take it some bashing will be involved and I should probably wear some gloves.

I don't know how the parking sensors alter the experience, but I had to ditch the gloves because I couldn't actually feel anything. I found that I could either look inside the bumper -or- try to unfasten the clip, not both. So, for me, the removal was done mostly by feel (literally).

I broke the clips for both sides, but they were headed to the bin anyway. New ones going in...no danger snapping anything off. They go in super easy.

As for the park sensors...I have the sensors and you just have to pull the plastic wheel well further out (you won't snap anything) to get at it. Took a few extra minutes. No gloves.

I think it took me more than an hour to get both sides installed and I broke one of the clips on the second reflector. I found that one of the clips (the bottom one, maybe?) was easy to reach and relatively easy to unclip. The other clip was behind something that felt like a plastic block, which made unclipping difficult, thus the broken clip.

This is a project that I would have saved for spring (frozen fingers are nearly useless) except that I had an Xpel appointment and I wanted the reflectors covered.

It's easier when the plastic is warm and more flexible.
