There are a few factors involved here.

Tire make/model and size, are a couple.

If you get a lower profile sidewall (35 vs 40) you may feel the road bumps slightly more.

I'm thinking that depends purely on your roads. Both their condition and their composition.

Other things equal, you will be downgrading not upgrading.

I had 19s on all season tires and the ride was rough. 35 aspect in the front and 30s in the back. felt every little bump in the road and that says something because florida roads are pretty good overall. Switched to 18s with MPS4S summer tires with 40 aspect front and 35 aspect rear and the ride was night and day. Highly recommend going with 18s for performance and sacrifice the "looks" that 19s offer. Just get taller tires to fill the wheel wells (that's what I did) as lowering springs and larger wheels/smaller aspect tires increase ride harshness.

What size tires did you go with?

Thanks. Was my first BMW and some days I regret trading it for the G29 Z4 M40i. I’m a techy and the interior of the G29 was very appealing to me and the power is addictive throughout the power band. But the launches and stability of xDrive in the F22 made drags more fun. I just spin 1st and 2nd in the G29. Hoping that some wider tires and moving from the mpss to MPS4S will make the difference for me. Thinking 295 or 305 in the back instead of the stock 275s. But I digress.

I wish BMW kept the Estoril blue and offered it on the G29. It really was one of the best colors they offered.

For any given road, the ride quality will be diminished and the ease of damaging increased.
