18s Front, 19s Rear ??

Has anyone done this, if so, any pics?? Just based off the eye test and reading a bunch of threads, it appears the following would be the ideal scenario for those not looking to go with super low profile tires, but still look like they have larger / aftermarket rims and eat up some of the wheel gap.

18x8 et40 235/40/18

19x9 et50 265/35/19 ***this is one step up in aspect ratio vs what folks normally do for 19s***

This would result in both sidewalls being the same thickness. Being that the rears are larger than usual, i suspect this would not work well for those with AWD, but for RWD vehicles i would assume no issues... thoughts?

This tire size is 1.5" taller than the staggered rears that come on our cars. It won't fit.

My solution to the problem can be seen here: https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show...2&postcount=18.

I thought about doing this also but I was thinking it would introduce more understeer with potential extra grip in the rear.

Very cool that you did 17s front and 18s rear... definitely seems to be a good track setup. In regards to your comment, yes it will eat up 0.75" of wheel well in the rear (that's the intent), but have you actually tried it? Looking at the measurements, a 265/35/19 will easily fit as long as you're not lowered or have poor offsets, so just curious if anyone has gone 265/35/19 or 265/40/18 on the rears...

Yeah I'd definitely be more inclined to have 265s in the rear for my RWD. dradernh your square setup is very nice though, how have you enjoyed the wavetrac? Have you been/driven in a car with the conventional mLSD? Thoughts?

No, I haven't tried a 26" tire. (I've just assumed that it's too tall.) If there are no owners here who have run that size, maybe the wheel vendors in this forum can provide a definitive answer.

The Wavetrac has worked out well for me. It does what I need it to do on the track.

I have no experience with the M LSD. I plan to keep my car, so buying a clutch-pack diff that would eventually need a rebuild wasn't attractive to me.
