Canadian F23 - TPMS

Just ordered my summer wheels, VMR v802 and checked in with the VMR guys for a recommended set of TPMS. Was told that (2019) Canadian F23 doesn't require wheel based TPMS, but they weren't exactly sure.

Does anyone know? called the dealership here and they didn't know and parts dept was busy so I fired them off an email. If a wheel based TPMS is not needed, then what do we need, or will it just work?

I have a 2017 f22 and I think tire pressure is monitored via rotations now.

When I put my winters on (no TPMS sensors), I hit RESET under the TPMS menu after driving around for a while and the error went away. This was last year and it hasn't come back.

Canada uses flat tire monitor through sensors. No TPMS. I prefer it this way too. Less headache and hassle...

TPMS only came on cars originally equipped with run flat tires. If your original tires were not run flats you won't have the sensors.

Car came with run flats, I just called the dealership and said I need TPMS, and its $177 each with all 4 coming to $802.66 geezus. Anyone have any suggestion on aftermarket? I heard we don't have to code these right?

We offer OEM HUF TPMS sensors that might work with your vehicle assuming the part numbers are the same as what we have in the US. If you want to PM me the last 7 digits of your VIN and shipping info I can check to see if we stock the sensors you need and get you quote with shipping to Canada.

Thanks
-Tom

I have xDrive M240 MY 20. Issues TPMS warning on start every time. I have no TMPS on my winters. Car was delivered with performance (non RFT) tires. They have TPMS. I have to assume at least MY 20 requires TPMS.

Yes you need TPMS or you can ignore the warning like I have for 6 winters.
