Exhaust Choice for M235i

Greetings people of the forums. My first post here but I was wondering, what is an affordable, aggressive sounding exhaust that is louder than stock but not obnoxiously loud. Your responses would be much appreciated, I just can't find anything! (quad or dual exhaust, doesn't matter)

REMUS is the best in my opinion. Perfect balance between deep/aggressive tone without being obnoxious. Also no drone

I went with AA axleback as the factory midpipe is 3" and has a resonator already, plus a nice flex section. Not many videos of it unfortunately but it's a straight through design with an internal split to each side. Once mine comes out of storage I'll make videos. It's also the most cost effective, adjustable and gives a choice of tip size and color

Thanks Mike, as I got that plus the other active stuff through you with 15% off on Black Friday

I'll be making some nice short and to the point sound videos with a proper mic, of the AA gesi downpipe and the muffler, and you'll be more than welcome to use them on the product page if you want. There is currently no video online of this setup on any n55 car let alone the m235i

How's the drone on the AA axleback? And can you send me a link so I can hear it?

I'm not able to use my external microphone with a new phone I bought, so no videos. I can describe it though. It definitely drones, especially around 2k. It's just a run of the mill muffler though, no sound engineering, no helmholtz chamber or other tricks to reduce drone. But you don't pay for that with this exhaust, and I'm guessing it's why other exhausts cost much more. The 100mm tips are great too. I modified mine with an electric cutout before the muffler box so I'm not very worried about drone personally. I would recommend remus if you want less drone

Is it like a " chop the muffler off muffler delete type" of drone? Don't want the honda fart can sound lol hopefully it's a more deeper refined sound? And how much louder/deeper is it over the stock exhaust like in sport mode? Thanks

Noo its definitely not bad sounding at all out the back, I was talking about drone inside the cabin. It's definitely louder than stock or MPE out the rear of the car, but still on the quieter side imo. I also have a catted downpipe, so if your on stock, it will be quiet/refined/definitely not fart can-ish. I think it would be hard to make the n55 sound bad, even with my cutout open it sounds incredible, very race car like

Ah I see. I guess 0 drone is pretty hard to achieve with any aftermarket exhaust. Actually went with the AWE tuning exhaust instead! Should be getting it soon lol

Disregard all above.

Get this set up. FABSPEED: Muffler bypass + res midpipe.

This is my setup and it sounds amazing.Eco mode sounds like normal. Sport and Sport+ snap crackle pop on downshifts. No drone to me. When the engine is hot I can get it to backfire loud. YeeHaa

UPDATE: AWE axleback + everything else stock = so good! Just the right amount of noise loud but not obnoxious, and in sport mode the crackle and pops are endless!

I also have tha MPE with Stock DownPipe. I agree it sounds good in sport/sport+, but i kinda want a little more sound. Just recently I acquired a FREE Dinan axle-back exhaust in great condition, gana throw a DownPipe first before that goes in to see how much louder the MPE gets. I read that Dinan axle-back exhaust is close to MPE but a deeper tone soo we will see!
