2015 Enhanced USB and Bluetooth plus Smartphone Integration
In case anyone was interested in knowing what this option contains, I just receive this from my dealer. My apologies if this has already been covered.
This option includes Bluetooth Audio Streaming7, Enhanced USB and Smartphone Integration for using a Snap-In adaptor. If the vehicle is equipped with option 609 (Navigation), 6NS also includes a secondary microphone for enhanced hands free communication1, Mobile Office2, and the ability to pair a second phone via Bluetooth3,4. Additionally, when added to vehicles with the new Navigation system (iDrive 4.2), Message Dictation5,6 is also included. Bluetooth Audio Streaming Enjoy the same standard of entertainment in the vehicle as you do in your home. With Bluetooth Audio Streaming, music from an audio player or mobile phone can be transmitted to the vehicle’s stereo system without the need for cables. The title information for the song currently streamed from the music player or phone appears in the vehicle display and can be selected and accessed via the iDrive Controller. 7Important Note: As of Start of Production March / April 2014, Enhanced USB & Bluetooth plus Smartphone Integration (6NS) is not required to get Bluetooth Audio Streaming on the following MY2015 models: •4 Series Gran Coupe •X3 •X4 •6 Series (all) •ALPINA B6 xDrive Gran Coupe •740Ld xDrive Sedan •M3 Sedan •M4 Coupe •M6 (all) Instead, Hands-free Bluetooth and USB audio connection (6NH), now including Bluetooth Audio Streaming, will be standard on these models. Please click here for more details. Enhanced USB By adding option 6NS, customers will be able to use their Apple white cable to connect their iOS device to the vehicle to listen to music, instead of using the BMW Y-cable. Smartphone Integration This gives the customer the ability to connect their phone to the vehicle using the optional snap-in adaptor (sold separately) and conveniently store it out of sight, while still making/receiving calls and listening to music from their phone. In combination with the suitable snap-in adaptor, the phone is connected to the external antenna of the vehicle to increase reception. Please note, PlugIn and Video Playback are no longer available through the snap-in adaptor. Secondary Microphone1 Adding a second microphone to the vehicle provides a better hands-free communication connection. Also, with the second microphone located near the passenger seat, it makes it easier for passengers to sit back and take part in the conversation. 1Excluding X1 and all convertible models (incl. Z4). Mobile Office2 Using select smartphones, customers can conveniently access office functions such as e-mails, calendar entries, tasks or text messages via the iDrive system. To help drivers keep their focus on the road, these entries and message can be read aloud via the audio system using the text-to-speech function. Please see www.bmwusa.com/bluetooth for a list of Mobile Office compatible phones. Note: without a compatible phone, the Office feature on the iDrive screen will appear empty. 2Mobile Office also requires option 609 (Navigation). Second Phone via Bluetooth3 By adding the ability to simultaneously connect two mobile devices to the vehicle, customers can receive calls on both their private and work phone. They can select one of the mobile phones to stream music over Bluetooth, or they can even pair a third device for playing music. With the new Navigation system4, customers not only receive calls on both phones, but they can make outgoing calls from either device. Additionally, the contact lists from both phones are merged into one list in the vehicle for even easier access. 3Requires option 609 (Navigation). 4Available only with iDrive 4.2 in the following models: •2013: 3 Series Sports Wagon •2014: X3, 6 Series Coupe, 6 Series Convertible, 6 Series Gran Coupe and all M6 models Message Dictation5,6 Message Dictation allows you to use “speech-to-text” to dictate emails and text messages. Customers can sign up for a free trial of this system directly through the vehicle’s iDrive system, when connected to a compatible Bluetooth phone. To continue beyond 30 days, the service costs $30.95 annually, payable to Nuance. www.bmwusa.com/bluetooth Please see www.bmwusa.com/bluetooth for a list of Message Dictation compatible phones. 5Message Dictation also requires option 609 (Navigation) and 6AK (BMW Online). 6Available only with iDrive 4.2 in the following models: •2013: 3 Series Sports Wagon •2014: X3, 6 Series Coupe, 6 Series Convertible, 6 Series Gran Coupe and all M6 models Previous offering: Enhanced Bluetooth plus Smartphone Integration was part of option 639/6NL and 6NF. Message Dictation also required the optional BMW Assist Convenience Plan. |

I have Navigation, but I didn't select the Enhanced USB and Bluetooth plus Smartphone Integration option, and now I really regret it because I need the office function. Is there a way to retrofit it? I don't even care for the craddle or any of that, just the software features of the office so I can get my texts on the idrive.

Coded MMI/NAV off with engine off/door open - question
Howdy!
First - I did try to search the forum for this, but too many key words that too many results are returned. Hard to use one key word to see if anyone else experienced this. I coded MMI/NAV off with engine off/door open. I also coded door unlock with engine off. I did not code/change anything unintentionally. FOllowed along with a list from Pikachu's cheat sheet. I noticed that the halo rings & rear LED light bar turn off as soon as I open the door. Anyone else notice this? Not a big deal - never understood why they stay on with any car, really... Just curious to know if this happens to anyone else or if maybe I did something wrong somehow...
