Hey BAVSOUND - where's the 2-series speaker set?!

:-(

I'd like to do a smooth, drop-in upgrade of the speakers (no, I don't want to buy and ghetto-fit stuff, nor do I want to pay top $$ to a pro installer for custom)... is bavsound the only option? Is there another company doing drop-in decent upgrade to get a tad better audio quality?

I've got the H/K in my vehicle.

I've personally been waiting for someone to buy the BAVSound F30 Stage 1 upgrade - either Hi-Fi or HK - and install it in a 2-series. Based on the product and the similarities between F30 and F22, the front door and rear deck speakers should be drop-ins. What's unclear is if the center-channel and the separately-sold subs are. It's likely, but not demonstrated ...

... and BAVsound likely hasn't seen enough demand to develop and test a 2er kit. I bet it's coming, though, particularly with the M2 and M240i solidifying the 2-series' long-term place in the BMW NA lineup (unlike the 1-series).

Also, you do have another option: Jehnert. Someone on this board's installed its speaker set (can't remember who) and pretty much loves it. Do a search for 'Jehnert' in this subforum, and you'll find his feedback on 'em.

Focal makes drop in speakers. I used Focal 100s. Only works for doors and rear. I disconnected the center speaker.

In Europa we also use German Eton speakers.

http://www.etongmbh.de/produkte/fahr...0-w/1/pid/244/
is only 200€ for a kit and is really plug and play in a Fxx serie.

My doors install (sorry it's in french) As Hk was'nt the best option i only got stock install.

I have done it...

I installed the Bavsound stage 1 upgrade from my old F80 right back into my F22. Exact fit. And I have four extra drivers as backups

Subbing. OP have you reached out to Bavsound to ask if any of their kits are compatible with the 2? I see moorfan has done it with the F80 kit, but is the center channel/tweeters different?

Just got off the phone with Bavsound this afternoon, they are developing the system for the 2 series as we speak. He said it should be ready by spring, hopefully sooner.

In the meantime, he was going to test out and see about the F80 fitment, etc.

have you found any issues with the depth in the front speakers with using your F80 kit? I will just order the Bavsound F80 kit for my F22 as long as everything works!

Just for my purposes, what year F80 did you have so I can order the same through Bavsound?

Will be following this thread closely as things develop, would really like to improve the sound quality, and add tweeters. Drives me nuts that my g/f's Golf with a Fender system sounds way better than my M235i base system.

In a couple months I'm looking to do something with my stock hi-fi system. While it's not really as bad as others say, it still could use some help in the sound system department. I'll be following this thread too.

This thread is six months old. I went to their site and found that they have speakers, amp and woofers, at least for the cars that come with the base Hi-Fi system.

Are they better than the HK system in the 2016 M235i?

The consensus seems to be that the system sounds better without a centre front speaker. I just wish that BavSound's "package discount" wasn't decimated by deselecting that from the set. The discount drops from $137 to $51, so the total price only drops $112 which is disappointing considering that the centre speaker (two piece) cost is listed as $198. This isn't McDonald's, where having a meal-with-soda instead of just a burger-and-fries costs them pennies in sugar and water. If you're going to offer a package discount, do it consistently...

Well, $198 for the center speakers which really aren't necessary and might even do some sonic harm is a little hard to take.

Agreed. I just think it's somewhat of a bait-and-switch for them to reduce the discount such a lot instead of keeping it proportional.
