2014 M235i non HK sound system question

Hey guys,

Just got my new car and loving this place as a source of info

I have used the search function to try and find my answer, but wasnt able to.

I have a non HK M235i and would like to upgrade the audio. Ive read the threads with the suggestions and i like the look of them, but my question is around the tweeters for the front. Does the non HK have all the wiring required to mount and install a tweeter on the inside of the mirrors? I figure that i will have to buy the OEM sails (the mount for the tweeter) but not sure if everything else that i need is already in the door.

If someone can please confirm and if anyone has a suggestion on where i can find the sails (without HK tweeter) that would be amazing.

Each door has a single pair of wires for both the mid-range and the tweeter, regardless if the car the HK sound system or not. What BMW does it places a capacitor in series with the tweeter's wires to block audio frequencies below a specific frequency. So, if you buy component front speakers the kit will include either capacitors or actual crossovers.

Yes! There's foam on the inside of the housing. The foam has a cut out for the tweeter. You can cut out additional foam if you need to.
