Missing insulation on lower trim below cabin filter?

I replaced by cabin filter last night at about 15,000 miles. Before doing so I watched a number of videos since it's a tad more complicated then other cars (still very easy). When I took my lower trim off to access the filter compartment I noticed that unlike all the videos I watched I had no insulation on it (see attached picture). Mine was just the light and plastic. It's probably not significantly affecting anything, but I thought it was strange. Anyone else not have the insulation?
