Running XHP trans tune with M Performance LSD
I have done some searching for the specific situation I'm about to encounter but haven't found what I needed so starting this thread.
My RWD M240i with the crappy E-LSD is getting fitted with the M Performance LSD in the next couple weeks. After getting it put in I also want to add the XHP trans tune and go with Stage 3. Are there any issues with pairing these two together with my car not having the LSD from the factory? Not sure if the XHP needs to know if the car has a mechanical LSD and if it doesn't if there will be any issues. Any thoughts would be appreciated and if anyone has done this exact pairing that would be sweet to hear about it-- Joe

Cool. That is good to know. Do you know if when the LSD was installed if there was any programming required so that the new LSD pairs well with the factory traction control? Working with a shop on a quote (looks like $800 to install) and they don't know how to answer that question. I'd take it to the BMW dealer who would know all but their quote is $1536 just for the labor. Ouch....

AFAIK, there is no additional programming required for the factory traction control. Reason being, traction control only kicks in when you lose tractions. LSD will kick in first and if LSD is not enough the factory traction control will do the rest. You are basically adding a layer of shield to your traction. |
