HELP! My clock stopped working + some idrive features

Anyone experienced something like this?
Namely,
Clock - it won't keep any value i set it to and won't auto set either
BMW connected drive. I can still locate the car via my phone but apps won't show up.
Check control - Nada
Service required page - Nada.

Any thoughts?

Garage List
You have a short in the MOST fiber optical bus as that is what transmits the time and vehicle service info over to the head unit.

Were you working on the car and did you by any chance do anything with the wiring on the head unit?

Hi Steve, thanks for the reply!

I dropped the car off for some body work (front right bumper) and when it came back from the shop it wasn't getting the time automatically.

I did work on the head unit after, but this issue was there first.

Do you know where i can find this cable in the f22/f30 series? most google results yield older bmw results

Oooseun- Not sure if I shared this with you, or someone else, but there were two wires (green and black) that needed to be moved separately from the original wire bundle connector that fed your head unit. They pulled out attached together and were in a corner of the connector. I saw mention of this in some Bimmertech installation videos. You needed to pull them out of original connector, and move them over to the Carplay module connector that now replaced the original connector into your head unit, in the identical slots. They said these were digital feed wires, but I thought they were for audio. Perhaps this is your issue?

OMG STEVE And MARK YOU'RE MY HERO!!!!!
Turns out i didn't transfer the Fiber optic cable! Sucks i had to take the car apart to connect the stupid cable but i'm so happy i was able to find what's wrong. It's amazing you knew exactly what's wrong! Anyway, i'm happy to have my time back lol

THANK YOU! Gonna leave this here to help other people.

Glad it worked for you! Thank the Bimmertech folks. Their videos are very helpful.

Sorry to thread jack, but I have the same issue except I can see values on the check control and service required pages but i am unable to see the clock values.

Triple checked Fiber Optic cable is plugged in.

EDIT: Turns out I just needed to set the clock values as I had disconnected the battery!

After installing my CarPlay module on my 2015 M235, I had the same issues. For whatever reason, I could never set the clock. I also lost all of my chimes and indicator sounds as well. A bit bummed because I liked those chimes but preferred CarPlay over the chimes. The manufacturer I purchased from never mentioned moving these fiber optic cables. I even reached out multiple times after installation because I felt like the loss of chimes wasn’t normal. Sure enough, swapped over the cables and now both my clock and chimes work as expected! Thank you very much
