Help choose configuration with or without rear speakers?
Hi all:
Should I run the factory rear speakers, help me decide. SET Up Factory HiFi Focal ISC BMW components in front Disconnected centre channel Earthquake SWS 8Xi subs Stock rear deck speakers I just got a JL Audio XD600/6 amp. 6 channels at 75w Option 1-No rears Channel 1/2 for fronts with stock Focal crossover, high pass at 100hz Channel 3/4 bridged at 150w to left sub, low pass at 100 hz with rear left input Channel 5/6 bridged to right sub, low pass 100hz with right rear input more sub power, no crappy rear speaker, control sub volume with fader Or Option 2 - yes rear deck speakers CHANNEL 1/2 For fronts, high pass 100 Channel 3/4 for rears, high pass 120hz Channels 5/6 to subs input rear lf right, low pass 100hz Less sub power, but rear fill. Rears will likely blow up shortly then replace with Focal ISC 100. Which would sound better? Thanks for your input. |

Rears are tricky.
If you're curious to dig into some of the technical reasons why, take a look at this short white paper Kevin put together and hopefully it helps a bit in your decision making process. https://integralaudio.com/other_file...20Speakers.pdf

Thanks Phil, I read that which got me thinking of option 1. The jl unit doesn't have time alignment so I guess option two may be hard to get right.
