Hi everyone,

Wanted to get some insight regarding some issues I've been having with HPFP dips during logs on 91 octane (Highest octane gas in California). Car is a 2016 M235i RWD 6MT with 28,000 miles. Car has been having HPFP dips during 3rd gear logs towards higher RPM's for some time now. Even before the new plugs/coils and even with lower boost (15-16psi), my HPFP will drop to around 1500 psi in 3rd gear. In the past this will happen even with clean timing, good boost control, good WGDC, etc. Most of the time my logs are good except for HPFP and occasional timing corrections. I feel that this should not be happening on 91 pump gas and the issue remains with some e30 obviously. Before I spend the $1500 for a Dorsh Stage 2, does anyone have any input? Thanks guys and I included a small list of current mods and logs below.

Same thing happened to me on pump gas. Also manual. We don't kickdown gears, when we floor it the car has to do it, which increases the load and HPFP demand that isn't as sustained in an automatic car. . I upgraded to dorch stage 1 and don't even have dips on E45 on stage 2+ now. Its a worthwhile mod especially being in Cali, because you can start tapping into all the ethanol over there. Huge HUGE improvement.

your tuner should be able to tune around the limitations of your hpfp and fuel quality. was there a time when everything ran good and if so, what changed since then?

seems your custom tune targets slightly richer mixture than BM3 OTS maps, which could be reason why you get HPFP dips even at 16psi

Thanks for your input guys! I decided to just pull the trigger on a Dorch Stage 2 hpfp. Should get rid of all the HPFP dips I'm having. A bit overkill but the flow rate is really good and if I decide to go bigger turbo down the line I'll be ready. Getting it installed this Saturday
