Service History
Hi Folks,
Just gone back to BMW after a five year lapse, purchased a 2017 F22 Coupe. When I picked the car up from my local BMW dealer there was not service history with it. when I questioned it they told me they don't give out service history books anymore and that it was now all kept on computer. Is this correct or are they telling me a load of twoddle. Cheers. Kev |

Sharing this info is an individual dealer decision. Not sure about a “book”, but certainly possibly to print ROs. Were they the original selling and servicing dealer? This probably would have gone differently if asked for as a condition of your purchase to help evaluate how it was cared for.

Who did you ask?

As was already mentioned, you should have asked for that info prior to purchase. |

perhaps it's just a European thing, as OveN thinks it's correct, I never thought of looking at the iDrive. Kev |

This is just an update to this thread, I've finally got an answer from the service dept of my local BMW dealership.
They no longer give out service history in book form, it is all kept on computer and can also be found on the idrive after it's first service. the first service is due when the car reaches 18,000 miles or two years old, which ever comes first. As far as I know this is for European BMW's only. |

I have a service history book for my E30 but not the 2 Coupe, I can find the service history either on the iDrive under vehicle information, service section or on the ConnectedDrive website.
No, our service intervals are 10000km (CBS) or annually whichever comes first. |

It’s called “vehicle warranty inquiry” - a record of every service visit under factory warranty. It’s considered “confidential” because the owner’s address is listed. Ask your SA nicely 🙂

My 228ix is 2 years and 2 months old. I have 11K on it. I have not had it in for service yet. Is that unusual. Old school here where I changed my oil etc much more regularly.
